what operating system and office version

Hope you can help.
I want to create a macro to install templates into microsoft office. I need to establish firstly what operating system the user has and then what version of office. This will the dictate where the template files will be stored on the users hard drive. Any suggestions as to the easiest waty to achieve this?

These will probably give you all the system metrics that you need. Dont know how to use it but maybe you can pick out the parts you need. I kept it in case I need it some day.

That is a nice db utility in one package. I have never seen those ActiveX controls in use before.

Anybody have any othe Access 97 samples using the TreeView control that they wish to share?
