ok just a quicky!!:D

right back to work:D....i have a form with 4 columns DRUG, FORM ,FREQUENCEY, STRENGTH.
when the user choses a drug from the DRUG combo box i need the FORM, FREQUENCEY and STRENGTH combo boxes to only show the form, fequencey and strength that,. that drug comes in
eg
DRUG FORM FREQ STRENGTH
asprin tab every 8 hrs 300mg
capsule every 12hrs 350mg
paracetamol tab every 24hrs 500mg

=asprin comes in tabs and capsules paracetamol only tabs!!!

i had donr qrys for everything but they dont want me to do that just cos its not easy for the future updating n stuff so i dont know what to do now!
i have 4 tables one with the drug and form one with the drug and freq etc. (this is how i was given the tables)

any help would be great my boss wants to use this system 2mo!
i be pucked i be!(note the intentional spelling mistake)

You ask too many questions you're now banned from the forum!! Only kidding pal.

Now I might be able to help you today lyns (now there's a first!!) When you choose from the drug combo do you want to make further sub selections from the other combos? or is it just a case of depending on which drug is chosen display the info relating to the chosen drug? in which case you wouldn't need these to be combos..can you clarify so I get a better understanding of what you're trying to do then I'll be back to confuse you!!!

right ok you choose the drug from a combo box! that drug might have 3 different forms that it comes in, so, when you go to the FORM combo box just those 3 forms should be there for you to choose from instead of all the different types possable ever etc etc. if that makes it any clearer!

Hmmm just trying to get the picture so you've got a form with the combo you choose from this combo then depending upon selecting do you actually want to open a different form will the relevant details only for that of which has just been selected Did I get that right Lyns?

Hows about a send you on a few samples and tell me which one it is you want to do I'm having trouble getting the full picture

Col I've got several samples of cascading combos but it really depends on what road lyns is going down I don't know which one will help her best as I'm having trouble understanding the explanation..forgive me Lyns I'm a little slow today..and don't you laugh either after reading your reply to the hours calculation post (hee hee)

Hay - when Lyns refers to FORM I think shes's referring to the form the drug comes in capsule/tablet or whatever. Maybe I'm wrong but thats what i read.

samples are good! but no not quite right!
1 access form

lots of combo boxes under the headings

every time you choose a drug only the relevent FORM FREQUENCEY DOSEmg come up in the other combo boxes for that drug........it can be different for other drugs
e.g

if you choose asprin, asprin can come in tablets or capsules so FORM = tabs, Capsules then you choose which one the patient prefers(say Capsules) and the FREQUENCEY combo will only show frequenceys for asprin capsules....etc

is that any better explained???

Hay! i dont get that sample???!! it only has 2 forms on it and no qrys or anything?? i was thinking that the on change event of DRUG would spark an update event in FORM etc but i dont know how to do that! where it goes or anything
 
Lyns the sample doesn't need queries the data is being pulled from the table. Is it even close to what you want to achieve? Do you trust me enough to send it to me? It would certainly help if I saw your setup!
 
it doesnt have any real data in it yet anyway my patients are all called aaabbb ot hhheee! i will send it just now! its ART you want to look at and ill text you the password just now!
