VBA Reference Woes

I have a database in Access 2K running in a multi user environment. It has been in place for nearly 2 years. All of the sudden, I have a reference problem on many of the user's computers.

The reference is the Microsoft Jet and Replication Obects 2.6 library. The reference says MISSING:Microsoft Jet and Replication Obects 2.6 library. I checked for the actual file at

c:\Program Files\Common File\System\ADO\msjro.dll and the file exists.

Why did I all of the sudden geet this error and does anyone have any idea how to remedy the problem?

Have you tried re-registering the dll (using regsrv.exe) ?

It happens sometimes. Mine did it for 2 weeks then hasn't done it since. There are ways to handle the situation. See links below.

Some new software (or an operating system upgrade) caused a shared .dll to be changed which "broke" the reference.

On one computer, I re-installed Access and it worked fine. On two others, the re-installation did not remedy the situation. On these computers, I de-selected the MISSING reference, closed Access, re-opened it and re-selected the reference. All is now good.
