SQL Server Migration Assistant for Access

I realize this has been a while, but never-the-less... This is a very good app. Not the upsizing wizard, the other one! It's like an upsizing wizard on steroids! The program converted things when the wizard didn't.

List of queries and tables in a combobox

Thanks Missinglinq! I'll go try it. That doesn't look like VB.NET. Does anyone know how to do this in C# OR VB.NET? Admins, if you deem this in the wrong forum, by all means please move it.

List of queries and tables in a combobox

If this has been answered before, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I need to get a list of my tables and queries in a combobox and be able to have a button (or I could just hit enter) near the combobox that will start the approperate table/query. I'm actually using this for both Access 2000...

    Upsizing Access Question

In my opinion, any one of the SQL database programs are better than Access. If you have a dedicated server, you should be just fine. How big are your tables? In Access, you are limited to 2.1 (ok, 2.095) Gb. I have 3 files that are maxed out at that size and they want MORE! I only wish that...

    Macola tables in Access 2000

Does anyone have any ideas? Should I take a different approach?

    Macola tables in Access 2000

Please forgive my ignorance, but what's a BOM? I'm trying to build a front end app in VB.NET (reason being that it is more flexible than Access), and am finding Macola hard to work with... I'm trying to add functionality that Macola doesn't have, as well as making these tables accessible to...

    Module results in a label

Still doesn't work... Same error "Compile error: Expected function or variable"

    Module results in a label

How come this doesn't work? Me.Label139.Caption = getFileDateTime.getLastModified It claims it expected a function or variable. My module looks like this. Public Sub getLastModified() ' Initialize variables Dim lastModifiedDateTime As Date ' Run code...

    Module results in a label

I simply put it under the OnTimer event that triggers every 100 miliseconds. It's also running a clock. Should all that worK?

    Macola tables in Access 2000

Here it is. It's a whopping 128KB when extracted. The tables should not be played with in design view, only through queries or a series of queries. If you want the full set of tables, I'll need to e-mail them to you.

    Macola tables in Access 2000

Answer one: I'm trying to do things in Access that Macola can't. Answer two: Sure I can. However the tables are too big to compress and post here. One way I've solved this in the past is e-mail. However, I may just be able to make a database based off of the current one and post it here...

    Macola tables in Access 2000

the way I followed it down is I took a component on a paper somebody printed out for me and looked for it in the ITEM_NO column. Then I tool the PARENT_NO and looked for it in the ITEM_NO. If you do this enough times, you'll end up at the second to the top (of the hierarchy, not the list)...

    Macola tables in Access 2000

About 11,000 rows that I need to look through and label. In essence, the entire project orders since 1988 (I have no idea why they're keeping it around). Yes, it is a bill of materials (indented at that ;) ) It's spanned over 2 tables. The head in one, everything else in the other. I...

    Macola tables in Access 2000

In simpler terms, I've found my way up the hierarchy by hand starting from the lowest part and ending up with the final assembly and eventually the project. I need a program to assign numbers while working up the chain. I was assuming a query would do that, but I may have to take more drastic...

    Macola tables in Access 2000

I am trying to make a tweaked database that comes out of Macola each night. It is an old version of Macola, so I simply imported the tables into Access. There is a list of parts and their parent assemblies/parts. I need to find the head of several series (automatically) and have the top level...
