Bob the non-Access table does have a primary key. There is something I did not mention on my previous posts that might be helpful. My pc runs Win7. I can execute the append query without problem to a pc running WinXP. (The DSN settings are identical !!! to both pcs). Thnx

Dear Rabbie I view the link. However, I think that the solution might be simpler. I imagine it has to do with the settings of the DSN. There is something I am missing though.
