    Unrecognized database format

I used a previous copy of the file, and it works fine now. The new one was somehow corrupted. Thanks!

    Unrecognized database format

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, the conditions set by the article do not fit my case. I do not have a sort order or a language problem. Any suggestions?

    Unrecognized database format

I get the "Unrecognized database format" error when I try to run an Access 97 database on Windows XP. The error popped up after I installed ODE 97. I also had Access 2000 installed on the PC, but I uninstalled it not to cause any confusion, just in case. How do I resolve this problem and open...

Thanks a lot for your reply. When I press "Merge to New Document" button, all the pages come up as I want, and I can print them all at once. However, I am trying to eliminate the "Merge to New Document" proces - if it is possible...

Urgent! - Mail merge - Calling individual records I have a mail merge that retrieves the data from an Access database. In the end, I should have 2 number of letters-each 2 pages- to be sent to 2 different people. What I do now is to use the merge new document button or the next record button...

    MS Access 97 & 2000 Association Confusion

I have both A97 & 2000 versions running on my computer. The database I am trying to open was developed in the 97 version. When I try to open it, I come across with the following message: "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in...

Mail merge - DDE - Conversion

Can converting a database from A97 to A2000 create a problem in the mail-merge structure? Both can use DDE, right? If I am not mistaken, the current structure will still be functioning. What I may do is to refer to Word 2000 rather than 97.

    Where can I find ODE?

Thanks anyway for your help. I need the 97 version as the database was developed in A97. XP Developer kit may not be suitable for that.

    Where can I find ODE?

Well, with the Developer Edition, one can develop a run-time version of the database which will run on a machine that does not have Access installed on it. + Royalty free run-time licenses + Replication Manager + etc. As far as I know, there is an update version available which you can use if...

    Where can I find ODE?

What they sell is mostly the Standard/Professional Edition, I can't find the Developer Edition. Although the description says "Microsoft Office Developer 97", when I go to the site I see that it is only the Professional Edition.

    Where can I find ODE?

Is there a website that I can buy the Office 97 Developer's Edition (ODE) or just the update version online? Do you know if they still sell it in some store? What is the price range?

    Which developer's kit?

Great, thanks! Then, I'll first create an mde and then convert it to the run-time version with ODE 97 if I can still find one around...

    Which developer's kit?

Thanks, I have read this before, but I wonder if converting the database into the run-time version provides the same properties as well. So, why not just convert it from mdb to run-time rather than convert mdb into mde and then into run-time?

    Which developer's kit?

OK, thank you very much...So, the only way to see is to try... Do you know if it differs to first make an mde and then turn it into the run-time version or just convert the mdb file?

    Which developer's kit?

    Exactly!
