    Hiding forms

Oops! In researching this problem I came across a post that said it wasn't good to have spaces between names, so since the original post I changed the form name from "Main Menu" to "MainMenu"; likewise I changed "Review frm" to "ReviewFrm".

    Hiding forms

Thanks for trying, Vangogh. I've already tried your suggestion, except instead of brackets with () like Forms("MAIN MENU").Visible = False The error message says it cannot find the form. Anyone have any ideas?

    Hiding forms

Having trouble getting the code right to hide and unhide forms. I have a main menu from which users can open other forms. When another form is opened, I want the Main Menu to be hidden, so it doesn't appear in the task bar. For example, from the Main Menu Me.Visible = False...

Re-post: Help sending email in RTF

Without any responses from my post of 3-Mar, I'm hoping that this re-post will bring some help my way! How do you tell Access to send email in HTML, with the user's signature (set in Outlook) - rather than Plain Text? I am sending an attachment, but the formatting for that is okay; it's the...

Specify Outlook 2003 preferences when sending reports

I use the built-in toolbar to send reports via email using the "Mail to Mail Receipient as Attachment" button, and output as an SNP file. However, when Outlook opens, it changes the default format to plain text, doesn't include my signature, and the Outlook interface is different - almost like...

Check for values in form field to a table

Hi Gromit. The CAR system is used to track deficiencies throughout the company - from engineering to reception - so standard "error codes" or descriptions like one might use in, say, a manufacturing or test environment, wouldn't work. Cheers for your input anyway.

Check for values in form field to a table

I wish it could be so easy, Neil! What I'm trying to do is to check that operators are writing a title for a Corrective Action Request that actually says something meaningful! Dispite best efforts with training, on-line help, etc. we're seeing statements like "The widget doesn't work", "Document...

Check for values in form field to a table

Thanks, Gromit - that's what I was looking for!

Check for values in form field to a table

I'm certain this question has probably been asked before, but I can't seem to find it! I have a form field called fldTitle, and want to ensure users write something that is meaningful by evaluating words within the title to a table of keywords (tblKeywords). I know how to write the IF/ENDIF and...

Decompile both front end AND back end?

Hi again, RG - Thanks for the quick response!

Decompile both front end AND back end?

Hope this isn't too silly, but I've just discovered "decompile". Instructions don't mention back ends and front ends. Do you have to run decompile on the FE and again on the BE, or is it sufficient to do it only on the FE (which has links to tables in the BE). Cheers, Christine

    Suppress Output message...again

James, I kinda figured that we'd hit a wall; thank your friend for me. Excel isn't an option for our company. I'm going to try to simplify my report so that the save operation is quicker and thus, the Cancel button won't be in front of users so long. In the meantime, have you had the chance to...

    Suppress Output message...again

Opps...sent that before I was ready. Anyway, just wanted to say I won't be back until Monday. I hope your friend as some good news for us. Cheers, Christine

    Suppress Output message...again

Hum, James, I'm not so sure it isn't associated with the report. Here is specifcally what I'm doing/getting: DoCmd.OutputTo acReport, "rpt CAR Form", "SnapshotFormat(*.snp)", "M:\Public\CAR\rpt CAR.snp", False Then, the dialog box: Printing… Now outputting page 1 of ‘Report’ to the file...

    Suppress Output message...again

James, good to hear from you..I was begining to think I was all alone on this one! The only thing I've found on a HUGE number of web searches is code written by Dev Ashish at http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0037.htm. It doesn't profess to be perfect, however, I can't get it to work at all...
