Help needed with validation script.

I have made a form and subform over a table named calendar. The table fields are:

CalendarID – AutoNumber
Date – Date/Time
Time – Date/Time
Contact – Text
Event Type – Text
Place – Text
Date Alert – Date/Time
Event Due Past Due – Yes/No

I want to prohibit a Date and Time conflict (i.e.) Event1 dated 05-18-09 at 08:00AM and (new record) Event2 dated 05-18-09 at 08:00AM. It is important for a validation script to stop the action and have a message box to exist in vba in the Before_Update sub.
