    Summing a Calculated Field

Okay now the sum function works on the subform. Now., say I want to link this field to one on the main form (or a report). How do I do this? Altering the control source alone doesn't seem to work.

    Summing a Calculated Field

OK the problem is the data view form allows you to add many records easily and view them...does the form view method allow you to add multiple records as well?

    Summing a Calculated Field

Hmm so what should I do now? If I redesign the form and base it on queries how will I get the combo boxes to make changes on the subform and the form itself? I want the subform to have a cost combo box which allows costs to be selected and the main form to have a combo box allowing patients to...

    Summing a Calculated Field

Eeek no  lol I had changed the design from a form based on queries to a form based on tables due to the fact that I couldn't attach working combo boxes to the subform or the main form. Now you're saying I have to go back to a query based form so I can make a calculate sum field...

    Summing a Calculated Field

Hmm the subform's footer or the form's footer? I tried both and it still generates an error message. Could someone have a look at the form itself to see?

    Summing a Calculated Field

Hi, I want to sum a calculated field on one of my forms. The field is calculated by multiplying the cost of a good by its quantity. So far I have been unable to sum it. Does anyone know how I can do this? Here is a link to what the field is related to just so you people know what I am talking...

Help!!!! Problem with form in Access.

Hmm the subform is meant to allow the user to select costs from a list (the combo box) and add them on. It is thus used for cost selection. You choose a cost (say medication) and add it to the subform. The subform is primarily made up from the Costs table. As such, you are correct. The subform...

Help!!!! Problem with form in Access.

Hmm yes a patient can have multiple treatments. Generally the cost of the treatment is always the same. The patient only gets a 5% discount if their account is above £250 and a 10% if they are not insured. Have you managed to determine yet what the problem is?

Help!!!! Problem with form in Access.

Okay I compressed it as you said and I am adding it as an attachment here. Thanks for the tip :) a) A patient may only have one insurance agency at a time, but one agency may have many patients. The Patient/ Insurance Agency table is part of the normalisation process...perhaps the type of...

Help!!!! Problem with form in Access.

Okay Peter sent you two files. What is your email account's max storage capacity btw? The one is about 1000 kb, the other a little more. Vengsiva I checked my subform for those properties and it appears they aren't there. Keep in mind I generated the form using a form wizard. Its based on two...

Help!!!! Problem with form in Access.

Thanks!!! Sent it :) Ok Vengsiva I tried what you told me and managed to get the combo box to allow you to select patients. Yet it still has no effect on the form. I trust the subform's combo box would work in a similar manner. Problem is I don't know how to set the childsfield and linksfield...
