Easy query question ( I think!)

Woo hooo! You're a star :) I knew it was something simple, but I couldn't figure it out for the life of me! Thanks

Easy query question ( I think!)

I think this is a fairly straightforward query, as I am so nearly there..but not quite. I have a number of tables, among them a tblEnquiries and a tblQuotes. Not all enquiries will have quotes, but some will. There is a one to one relationship between them - there can only be one quote per...

    Simple subforms query

Thanks, I think I see what you mean. I know what the OnCurrent event is, but I don't know anything about filters. Do I have to filter it by writing some code? Where can I find out more about filters?

    Simple subforms query

I'm so sure this should be easy to do....but I can't figure it out! I have two tables, with associated forms. One is company data (name, address etc), the other is enquiry data (date of enquiry, nature of enquiry etc). One company can make many enquiries, but each enquiry is only made by one...

Using normalised tables to create the form I want

thats it! I don't know what I was doing before because it wasn't there when I looked. Thanks :)

Using normalised tables to create the form I want

Yes, thats what I meant - sorry, the terminology isn't quite automatic yet! I'm probably being really daft, but I can't find the default view property. I've tried selecting the subform, and opening it in a new window, but I can't find it anywhere... FWIW I do use Access' help, but it never...

Using normalised tables to create the form I want

Phew, I've got somewhere at last. Now I have subforms set up in the main form (whose data source is the enquiry data). One more question - can I get the sub forms to display data in the same way that the main form does (in boxes with labels), as opposed to in tables? Thanks again - often all...

Using normalised tables to create the form I want

Thanks - I see the logic with the 1:many relationships and I'll try it. I have been using subforms within my main form, but with little success as yet. I will keep trying.....!

Using normalised tables to create the form I want

I don't know if anyone can help me here, as it might be more complicated than I can explain easily! I started creating a database, and created one large table and associated form. The showed customer details at the top, with tabs for enquiry, quote, order and job details associated with that...

Online examples of forms and subforms

Does anyone know of any online examples (kind of like the html ones at www.w3schools.com) of forms and subform construction? I'm getting a little stuck creating forms to display data in the way I want it using subforms, but I would probably learn my mistake if I could see some examples! Thanks

What sort of query do I need?

How do I do that? (I'm new to access, teaching myself here!) Thanks :)

What sort of query do I need?

I have a number of tables of data for different depots, all of which need to be used to update a main table of data (containing data from all depots) on a regular basis. The first time I did this, I did an append query to get the data into the main table from the depot's tables. However...

Auto number - filling in the gaps

I have an autonumber field set up to provide unique reference numbers for each record. If a record is deleted for whatever reason, the number goes with it. Is there any way of getting the next new record to be one of the missing numbers, or is that just complicating matters? Thanks!

Can't create report - printer error?

Ah ha, looking at the advanced properties for my original printer, which is an HP4200, they've only installed and HP4 driver, not an HP 4200 one. Maybe that is why. I can't install the right one though, as I'm not important enough! Cheers :)

Can't create report - printer error?

Woohooo! Its working! I added a totally new printer and set it as the default and it will now let me create a report. Thanks a million, you are stars and have saved me a lot of hassle with the IT dept here :) Now just wait for all the 'help I'm stuck' questions about reports...!
