Allow multiple Memo type fields per record?

How to... Thanks again for the notes table help! How can I add code, "behind the scenes", to identify a particular user and when they access any given record and to what field(s) they make changes to so that I can audit this activity?

Allow multiple Memo type fields per record?

Yes, the notes table is what we'll do... Thanks "Doc" and "stormin_norm"! Locking these fields once completed will help to protect data entered and prevent that eraser ability and mentality. Any given record may need ±50 notes over the course of its life and each note (abbreviations highly...

Allow multiple Memo type fields per record?

Very helpful! Thanks Doc! I'll review this with my Claims manager to make sure this is wanted; someone mentioned yesterday to simply keep a Word file running but that can be quite difficult to manage and sort so I think we'll give this a go!

Allow multiple Memo type fields per record?

What do you think: Access PowerUsers/Veterans In a customer/claims database, should user's be allowed to add unlimited "Notes" every time they access a record? The idea is to try to control the user's access to previously entered notes by locking the current notes field upon record exit. Then...

    Database Design and importing data?

Great!...a couple things I noticed... Anytime you're importing a large amount of data, especially if it resides in a text type file, I think my fellow developers would agree, copying these records into an Excel Worksheet makes it easier to catch errors and to set data types & changes that are...

A Split mdb and randon table crashes...

Users... FOFA: Although it can happen, in these cases we know no one else was in the same record when the table blew up; twice in 10 days... I held redundant meetings with all data entry and claims staff to explain just that fact and they have all done an excellent job in preventing this...

A Split mdb and randon table crashes...

Row Level Locking... KODO: Since this database features both standard Access forms design as well as a wealth of VBA for some more advanced user features and data functions, where in the code would I place the SQL statement for "adLockPessimistic"? At the very beginning of the main user's...

A Split mdb and randon table crashes...

Each client does maintain their own version of the main front-end database. I do update this with new features and changes on a weekly basis and they go out and update to this newest version but at no time are there any users in and using the same master front-end version that I use... See...

    Database Design and importing data?

How's this?... EKTA: Create separate tables for the airports, the inspectors, and the varous tests. Set primary keys (1-to-Many) on each to maintain referential integrity; (i.e. [tblAirports] would have these two fields; [AirportID] and [AirportName] as the PK; follow the same for the other...

A Split mdb and randon table crashes...

Digging further... Thanks FoFa and Kodo: We isolated an error message box that appears when this happens; if anyone has run across this, please let me know what can be done to prevent this from displaying: In the course of beginning a record cancellation, which is a part of our standard data...

A Split mdb and randon table crashes...

A Split mdb and random table crashes... One of my databases is having far too frequent problems lately...one or another primary table is crashing and always in the same field. THE PROBLEM: the table crash occurs in many fields; always dates and numbers, but the one that seems to drive the...

    On Open Event...

1,000 thanks!!! Mr. Hartman: thanks so much for this. I'm still new to all this VBA but I think I'm getting a little better. I enjoy writing routines and getting them to fire and this one is really going to help prevent a legal matter with respect to a database that I manage.
