But the table isn't there for me to get to its properties. Right clicking isn't giving me anything about showing hidden objects. Version 2003.

I agree, if the table property is set to hidden, then it doesn't appear as an option to append query when you change a query to append to. However, the first table isn't set to hidden. Now, how do I unhide the tables I hide to test this?! karen

Its the drop down on the append query box. When you change the query type from select to append you get a message box which asks for the table to append records to. Looking at it further, it seems to be the first table (alphabetically) that isn't listed as an option.

I've just been upgraded to Office 2003 (from 2000) and I'm trying to create an append query. I have three tables but only two are displayed on the table list drop down. I can type in the missing table and the query works but I don't understand why all the available tables are not being shown...
