No mate Ditched the access in the end and now use an online database in Sharepoint

as an update it only happens when I chose to embed a word 2007 document (I have 2003 still installed here and if I choose that option it doesn't happen, even though the embedded document opens in Word 2007)

It's using next to no extra paging file (certainly no big spike) and the biggest cpu usage was 23%. It's very odd. It never used to do it. I'll keep plugging away

I tried 3 with no change I dragged all the tables and forms to the new database and made no further changes and it worked fine. Very odd thanks for taking the time to look :)
