Would someone please update me: I have in the past used Outlook Express to post to Access newsgroups on msnews.microsoft.com. Especially the 18 or so at microsoft.public.access.*. It seems they have disappeared, along with Outlook Express. Are they defunct?

:confused:OK, did the trusted locations. Still have same problem. Why would BOTH Access 2007 AND Access 2010 refuse to open a code window, when Access 2003 works just fine? Running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, 8 megs RAM.

Haven't done anything with trusted locations. Is this a necessary prerequisite for using Access 2007? The procedures at technet for configuring them look pretty involved to me.

With both Access 2007 and 2010 I am unable to open the VBA code editor. In each, I click Create >> Module or VBA Code and Access goes into a non-responding loop. Access 2003 works OK. Advice appreciated. Mark Hammer, Spokane, WA, US.

I am getting Error Number 5: Invalid Procedure Call or Argument upon executing the shell command. Strangely, this happens only on a Vista Ultimte 64-bit computer. The exact same command in the same procedure/program works without error when run under either Windows XP or Vista 32-bit. Also...

For future reference: Error 3343: Unrecognized database format: Searches for the solution to this led me down several blind alleys. The problem was a corrupted back-end database, and a compact-repair on that data file fixed it. Using Access XP here. --Mark Hammer Lake Oswego, Oregon, U.S.
