    Zoom window is blank?

Sorry, I've just checked another forum and found the answer! Although the window appears blank, the text is actually there, but somehow the font size has been set to 1. Set the font size in the Zoom window to a higher number, e.g. 10, close the window then try again. Once set correctly it sticks.

    Zoom window is blank?

Hi For a couple of weeks now, when i open the Zoom box, using either Shift F2 or right clicking and selecting zoom, the window is blank when it opens. Have tried googling this but can't find any mention of it. Has anybody come across this or is able to suggest a reason or fix? Thanks Norman

    Database locking issues

Thank you so much for that Pat, that's clear enough for me! In the process of creating this database I'd been looking for information on lock settings and read in a number of places that the recommended setting in a multi user environment was 'Edited Record' so that's what I went for. I've had...

    Database locking issues

That being the case you would think this issue would be more commonly reported, most people I’ve mentioned it to have never come across it.

    Database locking issues

Thanks Pat The network Administrators inform me that all users have read/write/modify/delete permissions on the folder containing the back end data file. This seems to be borne out by the fact that generally everybody is able to read/create/modify or delete records, it's just been this one...

    Database locking issues

Hi Guys I think I've resolved this now - at least there have been no further reports of the 'locked' error appearing since I made the following changes over a week ago: I replaced the suspect table with a new one, importing all of the data from the old table, excluding anything in the...

    Database locking issues

Hi, I've never seen an .LDB file? The laccdb file seems to serve the same purpose. The lock settings in the BE File>Options>Advanced are 'Edited Record' and 'Open databases bu using record level locking' is checked. each form also has 'Record Locks' set to 'Edited Record.' The table in...

    Database locking issues

Thanks for your input, I did check with the Network Administrator who confirms that all users DO have read/write/modify/delete permissions on that folder. This seems to be confirmed as people don't have issues generally in accessing the database and editing records. It just seems to be an...

    Database locking issues

Hi I have a database in which Users keep getting a runtime error stating that records can't be updated because they are locked by another user on the network. Their copy of the FE then freezes. The only way to resolve the issue is to ask the person using the reported PC to log out of their PC...

    Deleting a new record

Hi Thanks everyone for your comments and pointing me in the right direction. I've been able to use the BeforeUpdate event in the form to request the user's confirmation that the new record should be committed before being able to proceed to enter data in other tabs/subforms. Norman

    Deleting a new record

Hi, thanks for the reply. The 'Main' tab contains fields bound to the 'Clients' table. The other tabs contain subforms bound to related tables.

    Deleting a new record

Hi I have a form to create a new client record which contains a tab control, the various tabs contain sub forms for creating related client information on other tables e.g an 'Address History'table. The first tab contains the main basic information about the client held in the 'Clients' table...

    Hi Guys

I'm Norman I live just North of Liverpool, UK. I've been using ACCESS for about 4 years and have built a couple of small databases, nothing very fancy but they've done the job they were designed for. I've really enjoyed learning and still have a long way to go, particularly when it come to...
