Protecting tables from accidentally being deleted or edited

I was thinking about setting that up actually. So it would effectively be a form, with various combo boxed to click on, taking me to the various other forms?

Protecting tables from accidentally being deleted or edited

Thanks for that. I think I do have forms for all the tables as it stands, so I'll give that a try.

Protecting tables from accidentally being deleted or edited

Hi, I have an access database that only I use. However, I'm always a little worried that I'll accidentally mess up the data in one of the tables, even though I back it up often. I use Access 2007 by the way. Therefore, is there a setting that allows me to add new records to the tables, but...

    Solved Segregating tables/queries/forms/reports

Many thanks arnelgp. It's proving very straightforward so far. You've made my life much easier than it would have been otherwise! Thanks again.

    Solved Segregating tables/queries/forms/reports

Thanks for that, I haven't thought of doing this. So I also need to adapt certain queries, forms and reports to only show information pertaining to a particular company, based on the PK in the table? Edit Thinking about it more, I guess in a query, I'd just select the company name (or company...

    Solved Segregating tables/queries/forms/reports

Hi, I have a database set up for one company at the moment. I would like to add another company to this database, as both companies share the same customers and suppliers, more or less. However, to make it look cleaner, is there a way to set it up, so that the left pane (the one showing all the...

    adding subform to main form

Thanks arnelgp. I'll check that once I'm back at my computer. It was you who have me the idea of the subform in the first place!

    adding subform to main form

I could open that, thanks a lot. The form looks really neat and tidy! I'd like to learn how to present mine like that one day. I'll play around with your version so I can see exactly what you did. Many thanks.

That's ok! But I still can't open your file.

    adding subform to main form

Thanks Mike. Unfortunately I'm not able to open the file (it said unreconized database format). I'm using Access 2007 if that's at all relevant. The reason I set the EnagementText_FK to a text, not a number, is because I wanted to have control over the format. In my full version, there are...

    adding subform to main form

I used the wizard to do it, and it gave me an option to link more than one field. I'll try to research more about what you mentioned regarding putting field names in the subform control properties. I suspect that I need to know more about the syntax for that to work, but I don't know until I try.

    adding subform to main form

Exactly, that's right. But I'd like it to be linked to both. I just managed to make that happen now, I think. Thanks for your help though. If I get stuck again I'll come back.

I'm making some progress now, I just need to remember what I did!

    adding subform to main form

Thanks for the link Gasman. The person asking the question in that link is clearly much more knowledgeable than me, I have no idea what they're talking about! I'll keep searching though. Are you asking me whether concatenating the fields is the way? I don't know, sorry.
