    Storing pdf in Access database

Are you using one form and displaying different images depending on a condition or are there multiple forms? As Crystal suggested if you are viewing images png or jpg are best. With a form open in Design view, you can add images (pdf or jpg) to the Image gallery that can then be used on any...

Solved Changing Color Theme via VBA in Runtime

This may be useful. A little more involved than I first thought. In a target database It adds a table containing a default theme that you have chosen for that database. Adding a call to "CheckUsingDefaultTheme()" in the autoexec or startup code will check if the theme has been changed from the...

Solved Changing Color Theme via VBA in Runtime

Glad to be of help. I am working on some other code to store the theme that was originally used in a database so that it can be replaced if a user picks a theme and then decides is not sensible and want to return to the original after a compact and repair. I will post that tomorrow or Wednesday.

Solved Changing Color Theme via VBA in Runtime

From post #9 I see that you appreciate how different buttons can use different Accent numbers to give the different colors. Access stores themes in the hidden system table MsysResources as an Attachment unlike Excel Word etc that store the XML of the theme. in XML text. Each time you select a...

    readiness tool

It would appear that Access should be included, as the documentation it says "This tool checks compatibility with Office 365 ProPlus for code written for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Publisher, Outlook and Visio for the following versions of Office:" There could be some confusion...

Solved Adjust Luminosity via VBA of any color value to it's lightest shade

I would be interested in the details of how the colors changed. Since the current Theme is stored in the database opening the database on any other system will use the last stored theme. (Same applies to Word, Excel and Powerpoint) If the database is supplied to users as an accdb they can go...

Hi Snow-Raven If you want to make contact regarding themes please do. I have been working with Themes for years and they will solve your problem. I am new so can't post any links yet. I have a free ThemeMaker that allows you to easily create new themes. I also have an add-in that makes all the...

Solved Adjust Luminosity via VBA of any color value to it's lightest shade

I know it's late reply but Microsoft already included Themes in Access, starting in 2010. Looking at a command button properties the Back Colour will be seen as it will show as by default using the "Office Theme" and with the Facet theme. A theme contains 12 Base colors and has 100 darker...

    Solved System color theory

The problem can be overcome by using a custom theme. If a Theme is created using the same fonts as manually all would fit correctly. You can create a new Theme with different fonts via the ribbon but that can be slightly confusing. My TMDThemeMaker has a fonts selection option. The theme...

    Solved System color theory

I agree you make colours for users but using Themes allows you options to have settings for varying users. There are a significant number of people who have problems with red and green, Themes work in accde and running under the runtime engine. For illustration, the first image shows the...

Hi I joined recently as isladogs thought I could make a contribution to a "System color theory". I wanted to add a link to a download for my Free TMDThemeMaker but the post was refused. What is the method for adding links? You can check who I am with isladogs or, this afternoon, with...

    Solved System color theory

The last theme used is stored within the database so there is no need to distribute it to users. So if customers can't choose a different theme there are no problems. This is the same with Word, Excel and Powerpoint. The included theme in a word document explains why a docx file with only a few...

    Solved System color theory

Looking in the morning rather than late at night I see "Back Color" is set as "System Application Background". For the "Office Access Theme" to work you need to set the "Back Color" of the form to "Background 1, Darker 5%" If the grey is not dark enough keep increasing the percentage until the...

    Solved System color theory

To cause confusion, Microsoft chose to call 2 completely different things "Office Themes". The first is the colour scheme for the Office applications, it is set in the Account section of Access and has White, Black Colorful etc. Changing that theme changes all Office applications. The other...
