    Decimal Contorl

The data type is number. The field type WAS double (not integer) but I did try changing it to single and that did not solve the problem.

    Decimal Contorl

nope It is a very simple sorting/ sequence number. I started out numbering the list 1, 2, 3, 4.... but when there were some additions i just made sure the table had it defined as numberic with 2 decimal places and used 2.5 to insert between 2 and 3. But it rounds it up to 3 so I have 1, 2...

    Decimal Contorl

I have a table set up with a numeric field with 2 decimal places. When this table runs through a couple queries and comes out in a report - somehow the number is rounded. Where would the rounding occur - how can I stop it from happening?

    Information boxes

Rural Guy - yes there is that for fields - but I had hoped for the text for a complete form - not just a field(s) within it. Mhartman - I did find the description box also - but as you said you have to right click and check properties... not what i hoped for. But thank you both for your help.

    Information boxes

I am using Microsoft Access 2003. I do not find a "Tool Tip on the Other tab of the properties sheet". I am looking on the properties for a form. I do not see "Control Tip Text" either. I may be looking in the wrong place, or they may not exist in 2003 or they may actually be called...

    Information boxes

I seem to remember - way back in my access class that I have not used regularly, therefore have forgotten much - that there is a way to put a description of the query or form or table that pops up in a kind of box when the cursor is placed over the name. I hope that makes sense - if not, read...

    Easy Question

Very Literal I took your advice - very literally - cut and pasted into the form property "on Open" and it gave me an error Microsoft Office Access can't find the macro 'Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer) DoCmd. The macro (or it's group macro) doesn't exist.... etc. Was there more...

    Easy Question

This has probably been answered - but didn't know what "text" to use to search for it. When I open a form to add a record to a data base it opens with the first record in the file, then I would hit the arrow+star at the bottom to get to a blank form for entry.... I just want the data base to...

    Page with blank lines

A spreadsheet look is what they were going for. Is the code comlicated? Like I said - just doing it to satisfy people afraid of change. Peg

    Page with blank lines

I do not get any lines but that explains a lot (I think). This report has level breaks so the # of records will depend on a sorting and level break. It would be great if it worked, but it won't kill the project to not have it. I am trying to please people by making it look like it used to (an...

    Page with blank lines

Not working, but curious I tried your solution but it isn't working for me. Perhaps with a bit more explanation than example. Does =count(*) stand for something? In other words, am I suppoed to supply something in place of the *. On your example the lines do not fill the page, so I am...

    Page with blank lines

Has anybody ever had a report print with with level breaks that might only have 2 or 3 lines of text with lines separating them on a page but THEN the rest of the page is used to print blank lines with lines separating them - to create lines to hand fill in as needed? I hope that makes sense...

    So simple I am embarrased

I have been out of my access class for over a year and can't remember this simple thing. I am in a form, based on a query. I want to automatically fill some fields on the form by simply typing in the ClientID. All my messing around with combo boxes and list boxes only brings all my...
