If it worked when trying to subtract or divide, I believe it may be because Access is interpreting the '+' as an '&'. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's my understanding that the two are often interchangeable in Access...?

I think what I was trying to do was basically like a horizontal Continuous Form, which is not possbible! I will probably just have two columns, one for Collector1, and one for Collector2. For the 'rock abundance' situation though, this will probably lead to numerous blank columns in situations...
