I don't understand your question. You say:

Which is it that doesn't show field values? Your tables won't show any field values from calculated fields.
Can you please rephrase your question?
Yes, in the header space, enter:
=[reports]![name of thereport]![what you've written in the first parameter box, eg Start Date]
Repeat for the end date, changing the last field above
