Access file format I just realised,,, that i have a probelm with all files. I created a new db,, and I saw that i cannot use any of the 'create' topics. I cannot create a table/ forms/ reports Please help me.

I have access 2002 and it does not open any files for editing. I am just able to view the forms. The file is not read only. I also tried to create a new db... stil the same problem.

Thanks,,, I dont prefer the autonumber either. I need a number to indicate the serial number of the document generated in a year. This number is used as part of the document id, which is used in the same form. Is there any other way, for the user to find out the serial number correctly...

Query? Can i use a query to reset the serial number? i dont think i can use different tables as it has to be linked to the same form.

I have a datalabel that generates a serial number for the record entered automatically. Can i do something, to get the number to start from zero, for every calendar year, without making any changes in the form. Please help me out with this. :)

add new field what i meant was... i have a table and have a form with a few selected fieelds from that table. Now, i want to add another filed from the table to the form,, how can i do that>????

ppl, i need to add a new field/ column to my table. the new field is the difference of two other columns in the table. can i do this without writing a query. and is there a way i can find the number of working days between two dates... like NETWORKDAYS in excel. thanks a lot
