    Many thanks for your reply. I was trying to convert a series of Excel reports on royalties over severla years into an Access database. After cleaning the data on the first right I selected Get external data from Access; pulled in the data and on review decided I needed to make further changes...

    I'm trying to export data from Excel into a new Access 2000 database and after some initial success using Get External Data, now get the above error message no matter what I try. There was a similar question on here some time ago but I cannot find it being answered - perhaps deleted.

    Hi everyone. I've just joined with an Acess query to work on. Based in England in a village outside Chelmsford in Essex I specialise in Excel solutions for royalty matters and am a bit of a newby on Access. I cut my teeth on a 4GL called Dataflex - boy do I miss it!
