I have been creating a personal database (access 2002) to keep help keep track of all the stupid things I own. I was wondering what people think about encoding data to help reduce database size. I know that for my small database it probably doesnt matter, but it it worth it to enocde colors...

Thank you for the reply. I believe what you are suggesting will work, but I would prefer to have a semi-random distribution of numbers. I would like to remove *any* correspondence between the number and the items. Will seeding the generator on database load be sufficient?
