    Those pesky menubars...

I may have spoken too soon in thinking that I'd got it sorted... when I run the applcation in runtime mode, it seems the ShowToolbar command isn't working. I think I REALLY need to understand how this is all working! :(

    Those pesky menubars...

I've been plaing around trying to get my menubars working as I want and although I've managed it, I don't really understand why I was having such difficulty. If someone could point me at a sensible description of it all I'd be very grateful. What I had was an application (Access2003) with a...

Filter produces 2427: Expression has no value

Ah, of course! I've been concentrating on where the failure was occurring, i.e. the form load event, but if I do the record count test in the 'On Enter' event then it's sorted! Many thanks. I knew I was missing something blindingly obvious!

Filter produces 2427: Expression has no value

Yes, I do know what it means. ;) It was supposed to activate if the user tabbed through the list of records, and worked fine if there were records, but gave 2427 on form load if there were none. I could equally have used the 'On Got Focus' event but that suffers from exactly the same 2427...

Filter produces 2427: Expression has no value

It was nothing to do with the functions or logic I showed you but to an event attached to one of the fields on the form. The Arrival field had an 'On Enter' event and that seemd to be throwing it. Why it's showing up on form load when I specify the filter I've no idea! Anyway, I've changed it...

Filter produces 2427: Expression has no value

    to vbaInet, Arrival is Date/Time DCrake: What I tried was... sSQL = "Arrival BETWEEN " & SQLdate(dWhen) & " AND " & SQLdate(dLast) If DCount("*", "BedroomsWaiting", sSQL) = 0 Then Me.Filter = "False" Else Me.Filter = sSQL End If Me.FilterOn = True but I...

Filter produces 2427: Expression has no value

'cos I never thought of it ;) Thanks for that, it's a lot easier to read. Although it doesn't do anything to solve my problem.

    data validation in two tables

If Dcount("*", "table2", "key=" & keyvalue) > 0 then msgbox "Record already exists", vbOKOnly, "Validation" exit sub End If Or are you wanting something more than this?

Filter produces 2427: Expression has no value

I've got a form which, on loading, sets a filter Me.Filter = "Arrival>=" & SQLdate(dWhen) & " AND Arrival<=" & SQLdate(dLast) Me.FilterOn = True (SQLdate is a function which formats the date for me) When I examine what it's supposed to be setting it shows me Arrival>=#10/04/2010# AND...

Right Click - getting data from the control

Isn't it always the way?! Just as you've submitted a question that's been a problem for a while, you suddenly have another thought.....:o In my case that's what's happened and I've thought about the screen object and found Screen.ActiveControl. :)

Right Click - getting data from the control

I have a form on which I've a number of text fields to which I've assigned a R-click menu. The R-click function I'm interested in invokes a function but how do I either pass to that function information about the control that was clicked or determine this information in some other way while in...
