The third Access Europe User Group meeting for 2026 will be on Wednesday 4 Mar starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM). Please note that the UK is currently on winter time. For local times, please check World Time Buddy

In this session, we are very pleased to welcome back fellow UK developer, Chris Arnold (AKA CJ_London on this forum) for his third presentation to the group since we started back in 2022. In this presentation, Chris will demonstrate the uses of ADO recordsets in Access.

The session wilļ include:
• What ADO recordsets are and where they fit in Access.
• Comparison with:
- Arrays​
- Collections​
- Dictionaries​
- DAO Recordsets and temp tables​
• Advantages and limitations of each approach
• Practical demonstrations:
- Connnected ADO Recordsets​
- Disconnected (in-memory) ADO Recordsets​

Chris Arnold will be discussing the many uses of ADO recordsets (both connected and disconnected) and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of these compared to DAO recordsets, dictionary objects, collections and arrays.
