So I'm very very new to the world of Microsoft Access, as in I just started using it in a reporting class about a month ago. For one of our assignments, we have to import a fixed-width text file, which based on all of the tutorials I've found seems easy enough, except the data seems pretty messy. It is not arranged in neat columns or anything, so when I go to put the markers in of where each column should be in the import wizard, it ends up messing up all of the data. Do I need to manually go through the text file itself and clean it up or is there an easier way to do this?
My professor has not been much help and is less-than-friendly, so I figured I would try and figure it out on my own before resorting to her.
Thanks so much!
