Re: Listview Control

I would strongly stay away from using a listview (MSCOMCTL.OCX) or flexgrid (MSFLXGRD.OCX). Neither are supported anymore and no 64 bit version exists. Even if you can get them to work unlikely...

Re: Multidimentional const ???

Not a constant, but I would load into a dictionary object because the first item looks like a key and the second a description. That way you can reference by key.

Re: Subtracting Consecutive Records in Large Dataset

Understand the serialize is a generic function, but as written for this problem it is very inefficient. You could tailor it to be far more efficient for a specific large set. To find the absolute...

Re: Subtracting Consecutive Records in Large Dataset

If you do the speed test on a large set, I would be curious of the subquery vs the functions that create a recordset. Both should be slow, but which is slower.

Re: Subtracting Consecutive Records in Large Dataset

Sorry 70k. Since this is a function it returns a recordset for each record. There are 35k records, and 35k calls to the function. The OP returns 35k records for each of the 35k calls. The...

Re: Subtracting Consecutive Records in Large Dataset

If you want to try it in code this function is orders of magnitude more efficient than yours. For every record you only need to return two records. The current time stamp for that location and...

Re: Linking ComboBox colums to Labels/Images

I do not know about the utility, but it sounds doable. I do something like this, but only using a single map. However, the concept should work the same. You only have so many offices.
I have a...

Re: Subtracting Consecutive Records in Large Dataset

I agree with you, but I am pessimistic and assumed you would never get that lucky to have all the 35k data in consecutive order by PK. But if this is some automated reading, it might.

Re: Subtracting Consecutive Records in Large Dataset

These can be very resource expensive queries. I think if it was me I would create a temp table. If worried about bloat do it external. Then I would make a table that simply puts the proper...

Re: Creating a table similar to word in access form

As I previously said you are going to have to explain in detail what that means and how this is supposed to work. If you mean three entire columns of comboboxes that is one thing and you would...

Re: Creating a table similar to word in access form

This is why it would be really helpful if you could explain in detail what is your goal and how this is planned to be used. A different design may have been needed.

If you want three columns of...

Re: Creating a table similar to word in access form

ensure you are using the updated code that deletes all the rows. Also ensure the suborm is set allow additions to false, allow deletions to false, allow edits to true.

Re: Creating a table similar to word in access form

When you design the form you need to shrink the form all the way down to the height of the textboxes if not you will get space below them. That is what the space looks like. There was an extra...

Re: Creating a table similar to word in access form

Post your DB. The only other guess is that the source object in the subform control is not Form InventorySub.

Re: Looking for List Box VBA help after click update

This seems overly complicated to me and a lot of work. You have to maintain tables of table names and tables of field names. Do this in code.
The following are two listboxes on a form. The...

Re: Creating a table similar to word in access form

When you type this line
Set frm = Me.
Does "inventorysub" appear in the intellisense.
or if
you type INVENTORYSUB will it automatically correct to InventorySub after finishing the line?

Re: Creating a table similar to word in access form

Ensure the subform control is called InventorySub. Its name may be different from the object within the subform control. Must click on very outside of control.

Re: Alter a table's Data Type based on the data within the field

This is pretty close. It reads a table where all the fields are text fields, but the data in the field could be consistently another datatype. I tested by taking a data table and changing all fields...

Re: Looking for List Box VBA help after click update

This works for me if I set the listbox rowsource type to Field List and then change the rowsource.
Me.LstFields.RowSourceType = "Field List"
Me.LstFields.RowSource = Me.txtname

once thing that is not clear in the reference I posted is that you have to order your pedigrees. Simply sorted by descending birthdate may not work. The matrix will fail if a child appears before...
