Try:
SELECT Table1.ALFA
FROM Table1
WHERE (((IsNumeric([ALFA]))<>True));

You will need to replace "Table1" with the Name of your table.

So, the requirement will be to have a TextBox on the sub form. The textbox will show the text of the selected item from the combo box on the main form and the textbox will be locked or disabled....

In your first post you showed a combo on the sub form. Will users ever change the selection there on the sub form or will that only be done on the main form.
