Re: Makimg ACCDE

Often the problem is that Access cannot create accde if the VBA code won't compile. Try compiling the code and see where it throws errors.

Re: Access 2010 slow on Windows 10

I can't remember the details but I recall some issue about the default printer not being set up properly makes starting up very slow.

Something like Access checks for it during startup and times...

Apparently you have not noticed the huge campaign to stop new coal mines being opened.

Try searching "Adani" if you need more information.

Re: Creating a Stored Procedure in MS Access 2016

Create a QueryDef and assign the the SQL property. You also need to translate the SQL syntax to Access using the ampersand concatenator instead of the +. Otherwise the nulls will propogate.

Re: RecordSouce from sql

You can set the recordset as the Recordset property of the Form.

Set Me.Recordset = GetTitleMatch(SomeString)

BTW It Also works with Listboxes and Combos.

Re: Set Recordset = Nothing

I have often passed recordsets as the return value of functions after creating them as another variable inside the function.

IIRC once it is assigned to the return value, the original variable can...

In some places they leave a barrel of cider outside to freeze in the winter then drill into the centre to obtain a drink to "warm the cockles"...

Re: Updating a record through adodb (without ODBC) -getting error

Long time since I have used a DSN in a connection string. I can't even remember using a User DSN but I have had to work with Machine DSNs.

Last time was for a third party program that required a...

Re: Updating a record through adodb (without ODBC) -getting error

User and Machine DSNs are stored in the registry. They must be present on each machine in some setups.

I always use a File DSN. The DSN file is no longer required once the table is linked as...

Re: Looping through fields by type

So if the date really is January 1st, you cannot show it as such. Not a good solution.

I would probably have another field to indicate the date field is approximate. Maybe even an indication of...

Oh, that's right, you aren't actually interested in thinking about the issue...

Which side already HAS the billions of dollars to buy whatever opinion they wish to prevail?

Hilarious misanalysis. It is the effect on the the ecosystem that is most devastating because, in the face of such rapid change, so many species don't have the ability to move or the time to evolve.

Re: Error 3197 in bound form / linked to SQL Server back end

Do you have any bit columns in the SQL server tables?

They must have Nulls not allowed and a default value set or you will get that message when using through Access.
