Re: RecordSouce from sql

Why two tables to begin with? Perhaps use 1 table with a field to identify record as UK or US and apply filter to form? If you cannot change source data structure, then I agree with Colin that should...

Re: Set Recordset = Nothing

VBA should automatically do cleanup when procedure ends but some consider it good practice to explicitly do it.

Don't think I've ever passed a recordset object. I have passed an array and also...

Re: Calculate the age

Common topic. Have you searched? https://www.fontstuff.com/access/acctut05.htm

If you need it to show as string "18 years, 11 months and 14 days", that will require a VBA custom function....

Re: Access VBA DAO records need to know ID field

I tested both before and after Update. For after Update, I used rec_dao.MoveLast.

Will have to defer to Paul on SQLServer situation.

Re: Access VBA DAO records need to know ID field

The ID is not generated until data entry to another field. In VBA, just before rec_dao.Update:

Debug.Print rec_dao!ID

Re: Charting?!

Not expecting too much. This is a fairly simple chart.

Why is date field named [time]? Better would be DateRead.

Which field would be for blood pressure?

If you want to restrict chart to a...

Re: how to assign embedded picture to a variable inside a model?

I never use Picture property. I use ControlSource property. Picture property and VBA were required with Access 2003 and earlier for dynamic display of images.

If image is in an external folder,...

Re: sqL or Query?!!

Need to move combobox and button into Form Header or Detail section, not Page Header. Page Header/Footer only displays when printing, not screen display.

There is no Tab control on [main calc]....

Re: Problem with Looping

So form is bound to table? Your code opens form but does not apply filter so of course first record is always displayed. I am assuming form is set for Single view. Do you have navigation box active...

Re: Searching Recordset for Multiple value

Did you see post 4?

Why are you using recordsets? Is this part of data entry on a form and you are validating data?

Re: Searching Recordset for Multiple value

Why don't you try Find Unmatched query wizard?

What you have won't work because concatenated string is not in RS2. FindFirst expects a field name to search in for given value:

RS2.FindFirst...

Re: Update Query too few parameters

Re: Update Query too few parameters

Should use line continuation for more readable code. It's not really necessary to always prefix each fieldname with table or query name.

Your actual code has:

sqlhistnote = sqlhistnote =...

Re: VBA code command not setting focus on a specific field

Why would you go to another control and not stay on the one that just triggered 'incorrect data' message so user can enter valid data?

Is ActualAC a required field?

Re: Update Query too few parameters

Concatenation: the action of linking things together in a series.

In code, concatenation is linking literal text with a dynamic input. That's what & character accomplishes.

Re: Forms not able to insert new record

Re: Update Query too few parameters

ffupdate is control name? You are concatenating. Query with issue does not concatenate reference to [nots], it is embedded between quotes.

Re: Update Query too few parameters

The INSERT does not reference form control.

BTW, is [nots] correct spelling or should that be [note]?

Perhaps just need to correct spelling and embedded reference will work.

Re: Convert from vba to SQL

I've never used TempVars but maybe:

SELECT * FROM [t_mst_Cells] WHERE ID IN (SELECT CellsID FROM [t_log_MeasLog] WHERE ID=TempVars("ID_Meas"))

Where is TempVars("ID_Meas") set?

Re: Forms not able to insert new record

Wait, why should all comboboxes be UNBOUND? Only Category boxes need to be UNBOUND. Comboboxes are working fine.

Also, code worked without all those additional Exit Sub. When an If condition is...
