So a guy goes into a hardware store that he frequents. The store owner asks how he is doing. The guy says that he has been using a axe to cut down a lot of trees and it taking forever and wearing him out. So the store owner shows him a new chain saw that should make it a lot easier and...
Finally watched 1917 last week. A lot of dead bodies (not for the kids). I do not know how accurate the film is. But it is pretty dramatic. I glad I did not have to go through WWI.
I have Sirius and I get signal issue right here in the central valley of California. Still I do not remember what I pay (I need to look that up sometime). My music tastes are very varied (county, soft rock, oldies, classical, bluegrass).
Our organization is planning to move of Office 265. We have a lot of Access databases. I believe that most of them are 2007+, I know that older databases will have to be converted to 2007+ before going to Office 265.
Most of the departments have Office 2016.
Are there any issues I should be...
Even though I was born in the late fifties, some of those terms were still being used (cooties for one). Of course many terms that are quickly fading, "taping a show", "don't change that dial" (referencing the TV dial). I can't think of any more at the moment. I am sure there are a lot.
On a related note. Scientists think they have a clue on why some otherwise healthy men can die from the virus (no other health issues). It seems that their bodies are not producing antigens that would be the first line of defense from a virus. Why this happens, they do not know yet.
Unfortunately where I live, the virus is still infecting a lot of people. But then again I see my neighbors having large birthday/halloween parties and not taking any precautions against spreading the virus.
I normally wear a mask out in public and use the hand sanitizers at work. I try to remember to wash my hands often (especially after shopping). No COVID yet. Also did not get the flu this past year.
I did not a bath of water to use (My wife will not let me use our bathroom tub). I could have done the detergent and bucket of water. I did not think of that. Anyhow I checked the tub once again (very carefully), found the leak, but now that I have a new tube, not sure I want to try to fix it.
Well I ended up having to buy a new tube (no idea where the leak is in the old tube, but I do not have a good way to check for a leak). But back to riding every day (at 63, it takes longer to get used to riding everyday).
I try to ride my bicycle about 11 miles a day during the work week (five miles to work, six miles back, yes there is a reason). But this morning, I discovered that my front tire was flat. Not enough time to fix. Maybe I will get to it tonight.
I currently own a 2012 GMC Sierra XLT 4WD and crew cab. It has a 5.3 foot bed. Pretty comfortable truck. Fairly easy to park most times. Not as easy as the Chevy Equinox I used to own, but it allows me to transport family in more comfort. The truck bed has been very useful. It has some...
Another memorable moment in Mt. Rainer National Park (when I was very young). A camper was putting down their tent to get it packed up. A deer wandered into the middle of the downed tent and laid down. Apparently it was very comfortable. It ignored all the hand waving and yelling at the...
Colin your trip to India reminded of a similar experience. Yosemite valley is pretty much surrounded by high cliffs of granite. A few times while I was working there there had been a snow storm. Then that night there was full moon. Quite a scene and no need for a flashlight.
Some years back after I had just installed an OS (Windows XP I think). No sooner than I get the computer set up for the internet I started getting popups saying that my computer was infected and to click on the button to fix (NOT!!!). Of course when I got my software firewall set up, it went away.
I need to lose about 30 lbs (not sure how many stones that is). But alas I have really poor discipline when it comes to eating food. I was getting some decent exercise before it got really hot (>100 degrees fahrenheit) and the air quality got real bad (down wind from a number of wild fires in...
