    The memorable car you had

sweet. a euro tour is on my agenda but not yet...i don't think the sv would be too comfy on a trans-europe ride:eek: my next bike is either going to be a gsxr 750 or some sort of tourer - although the gsxr won't be much use on the touring front! p.s. just heard rooney scored for man utd...

    The memorable car you had

perhaps - but it will only be due to either misfortune (e.g. an idiot car driver) or a mistake by me or more likely a combination of them both. the pleasure is worth the risk for me:D i can imagine that i would feel differently if i had any dependents though

    Captured Brits in Iran

blair should be stern but there is a diplomatic solution to this. whether they were in iranian waters remains to be seen. the iranians will get naff all info from the marines, just name and number. this is just internal political posturing by an increasingly domestically-unpopular iranian...

    a bit one sided?

perhaps a 'green' way of looking at it is as follows - would the reduction in carbon emssions from travellers not having to to travel so far to reach airports more than offset the increase in carbon due to more flights across the atlantic? i'm not sure, although it may just move congestion...

    Pensions - whats the problem

i think you hit the nail on the head there.....as soon as china & india hit a splutter on their economies the prices of commodities will plummet too. china has had an awful lot of cash flowing into it over the past 5 years....not that much is being generated by the economy itself so a...

PBs for me sitting about 5% as well. i'm looking for a retirement pot of around 400k, once i hit that i will be handing in my notice - which could happen quickly if the premium bonds pay off! my previous employers had a brilliant scheme - i put in 5% and they put in 12.5%.....i managed to save...

    Shootings in US schools

yes, i remember hearing about that at the time - it horrified the country. it seems his experiences in war torn africa may be the reason - bbc link not a justification but possibly an explanation. he may have been screwed up by war but he was still his own man and still made his own decisions.

    Shootings in US schools

if more proof were needed to demonstrate the moral malaise that seems to infect this country - bbc link what with 15 year old kids being regularly shot and morons like those in the link above it seems that that UN report slating the uk's treatment of its kids is quite accurate. what is...

    Pensions - whats the problem

i'm already guessing that by the time i hit 60 (half way there now!) there will be no state pension. what i try to do is to join occupational pension schemes when i can and save regularly (premium bonds/ISAs). one day (perhaps) a house will be within my grasp and i may be lucky enough to ride...

    Shootings in US schools

god knows what is going on with the kids in that part of london. i had not heard of the yorkshire incident - it looks like that plus the london shootings were the direct results of drugs in society. the police seem powerless to stop these things happening - i'm starting to think that it is time...
