    Why are Americans so stupid?

I can think of a few posters who may qualify. :D

    Is this OVERTIME?

Which is why I for one won't do it. I show up for work on time. I leave at the appointed time. If you can't complete you duties in the time allotted, you aren't working hard enough. If they give me a project with an impossible deadline, I inform the boss that this will require overtime and I...

    Are you an atheist?

A female co-worker who had just broken up with her boyfriend asked me to be her escort to a wedding recently. Seems she had baby-sat the bride when she was a youngster. Being an agreeable sort and doing nothing else that evening I said yes. We arrived to discover it was a "Christian" wedding...

    Is this OVERTIME?

I would expect payment for the time I was not at the office, dealing with office business. On the other hand, if it is a condition of employment that you are "on call" 24/7 then you are already being compensated for this service. I had a boss tried to palm a blackberry on me. Me: What's this...

More evidence we are all becoming less civilized by the day:

Who invented the term: "collatoral damage" Remember. these are the people you KILLED while trying to kill someone else (who you probably missed). With all the high tech weaponry floating around, it's amazing the number of times one trained soldier with a rifle can get the job done best.

    Madness

When the US was founded it was 13 states with about 1 million people huddled along the Atlantic Ocean. Things have changed somewhat since that time. Would the US be the country it is today if all of the Founding Father's wishes had been carried out? Not likely. America abondoned isolationism...

    Madness

Agreed. but as I stated in my original comment, we won't go into the flaws of the actual doucment. That is another topic for another forum. Be prepared for extended discussions.

    Madness

The primary responsibility of the US Supreme Court is to interpret (sp) the US Constitution (we will not go into the flaws of the actual document). More to the point, is a law passed by any level of government "legal". The Constitution says Americans have the right to bear arms. Thats that...

Lets Stop George Bush before he Destroys the Whole Planet Earth.

It's my understanding that the current generation of Zamboni's are electrically powered (no exhaust fumes in an indoor arena). Make it rather difficult to run any kind of race with them. The older ones only held about 5 gallons of fuel which means a pit stop every other lap. I'm curious, would...

Our Next president Barack Obama or John McCain

I'm going to ask for some substantion for some of these: Time & DNA - surely they were always there, someone could hardly have invented it. A Brit and an American shared the Nobel prize for DNA. Powered Flight - the American Wright Brothers, unless you are thinking of some other type of power...

The aqualung - Scuba was invented by Jacques Cousteau. At least he held the patent. What do you think supported all his research.

The concept of Christianity is a noble one. You have stated the principles well. It all seemed to go wrong when "religion" got into the act. Not unlike the concept of government.

    Mind you don't get wet

I was always taught it was high tide about 8 hours after the last one. Or if you prefer, about 4 hours after low tide. The flaw in this line of reasoning is that it requires people to be able to count and tell time.

    OBAMA WINS (at last)

There are any number of "charitable groups" around the world that collect money for "good works". A current example would be the collections for the people who need aid in Myanmar. Is this money actually going to aid the victims or is it being siphoned off so the Myanmar government can buy new...

    Mind you don't get wet

I would have thought that to really cover their rears, they would put a clock on the sign telling the time the next high tide is due. Also a disclaimer, "Council is not responsible for tides"

I believe Gatorade is produced under licence in Europe. You should really have said "not gnats piss European Gatorade". Having sampled the Eurepean variety, its even worse than the US brand. I didn't think that was possible. Good news about your "ticker" however. Buluva or Gruen? :)

    What's Up With Peanuts???

Which one? The poor burglar who, suffering from a number of pysological conditions could only find meaning in his life by breaking into your home. Or the money grubbing captitalist home owner who endangered his life by leaving peanuts out on the counter.
