    Intermittent 3078 input table error

I had a try at that yesterday, but there's so much confidential data (much of which is from ODBC sources) that I couldn't work out a way to do it.

    Intermittent 3078 input table error

My apologies, I missed your response yesterday. The table gets created 'on the fly' each time the code is run. The data therein comes from a pivot query, and the column headings and record values change each time.

    Intermittent 3078 input table error

Manual only. It's been requested that none of the dbs compact and repair automatically, as people get frustrated at the wait. Yes, they get even more frustrated when things go wrong, but we does what we can, right? So, if I use a custom button to close the db - as opposed to the user clicking...

    Intermittent 3078 input table error

Thanks for the reply. I haven't run compact and repair for a while, but only because it's in pretty constant use while I'm here. I just did it and the size went from 32,984kb down to 15,548kb, which is not inconsiderable. It remains to be seen if that fixes the issue, but now I know to...

    Intermittent 3078 input table error

From time to time, I get the message 'Run-time error 3078 The Microsoft Access database engine cannot find the input table or query 'tblClaimsByPeriodSummarisedSource'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly' Things I've checked, after researching online: 1. It's a local...

    Comprehensive reference list

Just thought I'd write a quick note to let people know how the Office upgrade went, just in case anyone else is going to be experiencing it soon. This was, as a reminder, upgrading Word, Excel and Powerpoint to Office 2016 but leaving Access at Office 2010. We don't currently use Outlook, so...

Looks like you're right.:) At the risk of counting my chickens before they hatch, I just did a few tests on someone else's laptop which has: Excel 2016 PowerPoint 2016 Word 2016 Access 2010 and opened a few of the exiting databases ‘Microsoft Excel 14.0 Object Library’ was...

    Comprehensive reference list

In the case I tested, I know it was the version of Excel that caused the problem. Not all of the databases contain an Excel reference, but some contain one for Word, Powerpoint, etc. Unfortunately, the upgrade is going to happen a week from today, whether I like it or not. This is a...

    So.....that happened

I think the difference there is between electing a leader and establishing a specific law/rule. If you vote to elect a leader, the expectation is that he or she has either the knowledge or a team of advisors to permit him or her to make the best decisions on behalf of the people who voted...

    Comprehensive reference list

My department has just been told that we're upgrading to Office 2016 from 2010, next week. I know from a test run they did with one user that I'm going to need to change at least some of the references that our (many) Access databases use. Each of the databases uses a different combination...

    So.....that happened

I did read something to that effect a while ago. As an outsider, it's really odd to hear things like this, if only because I grew up in the 70s/80s, when the USA was this golden utopia seen on TV and in the cinema. The people were united (hence the name), the rich helped the poor, and so on...

    So.....that happened

This was very interesting to read. Seems sensible to me, but do any supporters of the college system see any faults in the logic?

It was always going to be an undesirable side-effect: https://www.google.ca/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=HNIpWL6LI4WFqQWtobWgBA&gws_rd=ssl#safe=off&q=white+supremacist+rallies+since+trump+elected Naming Steve Bannon as a strategist isn't going to help dispel the idea that the incoming government isn't...

    So.....that happened

So, ignoring for a moment the actual personality of the man elected, what impact is this going to have on the country? Will he unite the Republicans? Many didn't like him beforehand. Will be unite the country (once the initial protests calm down)? What will be his advantages? What will be...

    So.....that happened

Having the luxury of not being in the US, it's genuinely interesting to hear the differing views in the last two posts. Quite disappointing, though, that neither were exactly along the lines of 'He/She is great and that's why I voted for him/her' and more 'I think he/she is terrible, but the...

    So.....that happened

I do the same. Too many nuts out there today plus I once had someone get into my email and ebay accounts, then set up an ad selling HDTVs. They were careful to move all of my own emails into a new folder, so guess they were going to do it for a short time, then return things to the way they were...

    So.....that happened

Listening to his brief acceptance announcement, earlier on, I couldn't decide if he was enjoying praising Clinton for her 'hard fought' campaign or desperately trying not to insult her, just out of force of habit. I genuinely think that a large part of him never wanted to be president. He...
