    Had the same issue, turned out that the PC in question was running a VPN (wireguard). As soon as I disabled it, everything worked as before

    Didn't realize you were using a Pixel. When I see "Android" I think Samsung. On a Samsung, you use the "knife" edge of your hand and swipe right to left. The phone makes the shutter sound that cameras used to make.
