    watchdog timer?

Can you add an entry to the log table after file is generated? That way if the process fails, it is easy to detect.

Problems with Importing/Linking an Excel file

I don't know. I tried changing the security settings for downloaded files, but it did not solve the issue. I can open the file in Excel without warnings (if the security setting are changed).

Problems with Importing/Linking an Excel file

The problem is that for some reason the Excel file is initially unreadable by Access even though Excel can open it. The file is generated by interacting with a website using a Selenium script. I can have problems when VBA tries to open the file, probably because the file system had not fully...

Problems with Importing/Linking an Excel file

That doesn't resolve the issue. The problem is that if I link or import the file without doing a SaveAs in Excel first, I receive an error. It doesn't matter if I do it manually, use a macro or use VBA.

Problem with Linking Excel Spreadsheet to Access

It doesn't hurt to try it. Everything worked fine today.

Problem with Linking Excel Spreadsheet to Access

A good idea, but it doesn't help.

Problem with Linking Excel Spreadsheet to Access

The file is saved before I link. There seems to be an unpredictable delay before I can open the Export.xlsx file, the error when I link always occurs, even the next day.

Problem with Linking Excel Spreadsheet to Access

Everyday, I download a list of recently received orders from a website using a Selenium script. The site always downloads the file as "Export.xlsx ". If I try to link/download it directly, I receive the error, "The wizard is unable to access information in the file <filename>. Please check that...

Problems with Importing/Linking an Excel file

Whenever I try to link or import the attached file, I receive the error "The wizard is unable to access information in the file 'c:\Users\Roger\Downloads\Export.xlsx'. Please check that the file exists and the correct format." I can open the file directly in Excel without problem and if I do a...

    I will check that out.

Can I link to a sheet without specifying a cell?

I am just clicking a link. I don't see how I would retrieve the information about the link I just clicked. However, if I click the "Accounts" tab directly, it goes back to where I was in the "Accounts" sheet. Is there a way to simulate clicking a sheet's tab in Excel. This sheet will be used by...

Can I link to a sheet without specifying a cell?

Can I create a link to a sheet that does not specify a cell, so that the cursor remains on the sheet where it was previously, as if I had clicked on the tab for the sheet? I am working on a spreadsheet with a long list of financial accounts on the "Accounts" sheet and links to locations on...

FYI re the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment

The murder of Uriah the Hittite. The murder of Absalom. The usurpation of King Saul. Even King David's propagandists couldn't find an excuse for Uriah the Hittite. David was a mercenary leader who was hired various Philistine cities, and then grabbed control of Israel. He faced constant...

FYI re the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment

What about the Virginia colony which started earlier. Or the Dutch in the New Netherlands. Or Connecticut and Rhode Island, both founded by refugees from Puritan rule.

FYI re the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment

The account of King David in the Bible contains many crimes (and that is the pro-David account). Are you suggesting that David's crimes reflect divine inspiration?

FYI re the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment

The Puritans and Pilgrims did not found our country. They founded the Massachusetts and Plymouth colonies. By the time of independence, people had become much more secular.

FYI re the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment

Isaac, the founding documents of the United States are conspicuous in their lack of Christianity. The interesting phrase in the Declaration of Independence is "the Laws of Nature and of a Nature's God", which is a Deist phrase, not Christian. Lacking direct word from God, there are only human...

FYI re the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment

I am not sure what "God being in the highest order of power" means. Lacking direct communications from God, you are relying on human interpreters of God for instructions with all the usual problems of humans. Debt levels are becoming a problem but it is hard to see secularism as a cause. The US...

FYI re the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment

You are going a little to far to say that Christianity was incorporated into the government. Neither the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence makes any references to Christianity. (Compare the UK which still has a nominal state religion). While some of the founders where supportive of...

I have never murdered or stolen or born false witness or committed adultery. Have you? It seems more like the bare minimum for rather than a high standard.
