I want to be in that number when the saints go marching in 🙂

    Windows 10 End of Life

Umm, that's what Google AI said when I described your symptoms. I also said OneDrive was turned off. I have long held a theory, actually a conspiracy theory, that many of Microsoft's settings are placebos that don't do anything except pacify us into thinking our choices have been complied...

    Windows 10 End of Life

I think you have to go to One Drive Settings and disable syncing Office files. As for Office reconfiguring itself, I would remove Office and re-install it.

Dodgers swept the series 4-0 winning the National League Pennant, and heading to the World Series. Congrats 🏆

UK Online Safety Laws - I, and therefore the site, are at risk

When I was a teenager I remember seeing signs in several eateries and pubs that said "No political or religious discussions allowed in this establishment". There was and still is a good reason for it. Sooner or later those discussions escalate into insults and fights. So for those reasons, I am...

    Shoei Ohtani

I'm watching the US Baseball National League Championship Series game 4 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Milwaukee Brewers, and amazed at Shoei Ohtani's performance. He has hit two solo home runs and pitching flawlessly. It's very rare to see a pitcher who is also a good batter. Kudos...

    Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious

I would be saddened if N.O. turns into a bayou. I've visited several times and enjoyed its people, food, music, and party atmosphere.

    Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious

So is it a fair prediction to say within the next 50 years N.O. could be totally underwater?

    Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious

Hurricanes are by nature tropical events, where the ocean waters are warmer. The UK is geographically in the Northern latitudes where the water is cold year round. There have been hurricane remnants, like ex-Ophelia, that impacted UK, but no full blown hurricanes have ever organized and...

    Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious

I've never heard of the UK experiencing any hurricanes, tornadoes, or earthquakes. However, the UK has a serious pollution problem.

UK Online Safety Laws - I, and therefore the site, are at risk

The UK started a dangerous precedent in the "free world". I can anticipate many countries creating thought police machines.

    Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious

The Tampa Bay area is generally a good place to live in. We've been lucky for the past 10 years or so avoiding direct hurricane hits. We're known as being the lightning capital of the U.S. and Summers are steamy hot, but you can easily protect yourself from those elements. Overall, I have...

    Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious

Google AI says New England and the upper midwest are environmentally the safest places to live in the US. But then you have to deal with the cold bitter winters. Crime and cost of living are also factors. I wouldn't live in an area that's prone to flooding, tornadoes, and earthquakes. Hot and...

    Windows 10 End of Life

Today, October 18, 2025, my Win10 box received updates! I thought Win10 security and feature updates would stop on October 14, 2025. I didn't sign up for Extended Security Updates, so what's up with this?

    Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious

No, my common sense tells me FEMA and insurance has already laid out lots of money, government is aggresively cutting costs, and their solution is for people to move elsewhere.

    Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious

I can anticipate FEMA not providing anymore financial aid, and insurance companies not covering damage in high risk areas. They would probably suggest moving to a safer place that doesn't have a history of repeated calamities.

UK Online Safety Laws - I, and therefore the site, are at risk

You see? There you go again. You just can't help yourself and let go of it! I thought we were not going to further discuss the Israel/Palestinian issue, especially in this thread. I can't believe you being a moderator are perpetuating that debate here and now, after I stated about 20 posts prior...

UK Online Safety Laws - I, and therefore the site, are at risk

So what exactly is the "arbitrary line", and what is done with moderators who do not set a good example for others? I'm not being a drama merchant nor misbehaving. On the contrary, I am providing suggestions on how AWF can stay out of trouble without going overboard on curbing freedom of...

UK Online Safety Laws - I, and therefore the site, are at risk

Do you really think they would not first warn a site owner to remedy the situation before moving forward with legal proceedings? How do you know if an AWF member is underage, or an undercover UK agent? I suggest providing disclaimers via email to people who request membership prior to onboarding...
