    Transferspreadsheet and .xlsm

Instead of using transferspreadsheet you can write up a function to read you queries dynamically and output them to xlsm's or any other format you want them in.

Access to Powerpoint Automation. Unable to create a slide

Hello all, I have been doing research for a while now and while there seems to be plenty of information on how to create a power point slide from access 2003 or earlier, I can't seem to find any reference for Access 2007. The difference is how the slide is created between the two versions...

Query filters based on table data? Can this be done

Good Evening All, Does anyone know if you can setup a query to pull in table data and use it like a not in list type of filter? Meaning if the data was this: 1 WV 5 2 WV 6 3 NW 4 4 WV 8 And in the not in list I would put that I don't want NW so then the data would be: 1 WV 5 2 WV 6 4...

Simple Totals query only showing one group

On another note I can't do a count on the query only a sum to do a count I have to switch that boolean field to like I had it before.... This sucks.

Simple Totals query only showing one group

Ok I finally figured out what is going on and still I really don't understand why but here goes. When a boolean field is either null or true within the same field and you use something like this Nuke: IIf(IsNull([Nuclear]),"Non","Nuclear") as a field to show a value instead of just leaving it...

Simple Totals query only showing one group

No sorry it's to large. Anyway here was another weird reaction. I thought if I took the queries data and put it into a table by changing the query that shows the good data into an append query, it marks all of the records as nuclear which makes sence that the totals query would be showing that...

Simple Totals query only showing one group

Yes all the data in the prior query is correct with non and nuclear entries all throughout. I'm glad that were on the same page because I was feeling very stupid there for a while.. I mean come on how hard is it to total up numbers while keeping the groups in tact...

Simple Totals query only showing one group

Prior Query that the Totals query tries to use: SELECT [(Temp) Charges Master].[IBB Date], [(Temp) Charges Master].[Home Shop], [(Temp) Charges Master].[Borrow Shop], [(Temp) Charges Master].[Work Hour], [(Code) SDSK - SPF List].Nuke, [(Temp) Charges Master].[Charge Cat] FROM [(Temp)...

Simple Totals query only showing one group

Good day everyone, I have litterally :banghead:b/c I have a simple totals query that does not want to total for any groups except for one of them. So I'll try to explain. The data getting returned by the query it's trying to total looks like this: Fields: Charged Date | Home Shop | Borrow...

Min and Max date between five tables

You know what I think I may just bulk it into one table at least during the import phase so I could potentially make this a lot easier. I appreciate the comment I just couldn't talk myself into rework on the design but it looks like it's my only real option :D Thanks for setting me straight.

Min and Max date between five tables

Thanks for the suggestion pbaldy. I did think about using some code to do this but there is over 100K of records between the five tables that gets completly updated every day. It would take the code to long to process the data I would guess. The data itself is time charges broken into multiple...

Min and Max date between five tables

I am looking for some advice on the proper way to figure out the earliest date and the latest date between five tables. I know I can do this by creating a query for each table only pulling out the date field in each then using a union query to put it in one dataset then run a query to return...

Properly search mutlifield indexes to add/edit values

Well ok I did the comparison on the function in a whole between the two dbopentypes and to be fair both functions maxed out my cpu so I don't know how real this is going to be but here are my specs on the CPU. Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 @ 2.33Ghz Attached is the excel document I made with the...

Properly search mutlifield indexes to add/edit values

Yes exactly. That figures. Well I went and decided to modify the code using some static properties to keep the beginning date and ending date then applying them both to my metrics query and my table that I am trying to modify. The speed was considerably better since it had fewer records to...

Properly search mutlifield indexes to add/edit values

So I tried using an simple update query to do what we had discussed earlier and it tells me that it can't use an un-updatable query? Is there any reason why a totals query can not be used in an update query to push the updates to the table? Here is the SQL I am using: UPDATE [(Compute) CL...

Properly search mutlifield indexes to add/edit values

Yes it is a multi-user environment. I did some testing on Access 2007 regarding workspaces and it seemed to be like they really did not operate the way they were intended to in 2007. I do not know if they work correctly in 2010 but in 2003 they worked great. When I used it in the 2007 version...
