Conditional formatting - almost there but not quite!

Any ideas on this? I wonder if there's a better way to do it, perhaps using a module, but not sure?

Conditional formatting - almost there but not quite!

Hmm, the plot thickens. It's working, but I have several boxes I need to apply the same logic to. It's bombing out on anything past the first two sets (I have only posted the first three sets as there are quite a few!): 'This code changes the colour for the Initial Investigation box...

Conditional formatting - almost there but not quite!

Ahar, it's working now! What would be the best event to have this trigger on? The date calculations seem to be fine as the only time they need changing is if the date is changed (which is never should be after it is first entered) Ideally, any time any of the dates are edited, and whenever...

Conditional formatting - almost there but not quite!

Hi all, Wonder if you can help, I'm trying to get text boxes to conditionally format depending on the dates which are updated automatically when a field is completed. So far I have the following (please feel free to point out if there's a better way of doing it - I'd like to have it happen...

Best practice for cascading combo boxes

Second time lucky, my previous post timed out :( I wondered if I could get some suggestions on the best practice for displaying cascading combo boxes. I have some categories, say 1,2,3,4,5 and within these are sections, say 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b and so forth. I want to have a combo box on a form...

Thank you all for your support - about to go over the £1000 mark which is outstanding news! Back to the real world with a resounding thud though! Ruth

What do you do when you are bored at work?

I wish things were quiet enough to be looking for things to do .. the piggies saw to that!

    I did it!

Hi all, Just to let you know I'm back safe and sound (if a little sore and achy!) from my 200 mile sponsored walk! The fundraising now sits at just short of £1000 which is brilliant! In the time I was away walking, a fishing boat capsized off Scotland resulting in three fishermen losing...

Lets help Ruth Raise Her Funds For Charity Walk

The injury is actually due to the fact that last year I fell over and tore ligaments resulting in avulsion fractures in two places on my foot, and then later in the year I tore my quad muscle during pre-season hockey training. As a result of being off my feet for a good 4-6 months and "walking...

Field based on month/year of separate field

Hi all, I have a query which is working really well, which I am using to generate a pivot table/graph to display the number of cases per month for three organisations. These are counted from a table with the following fields: SpecimenID PatientDetailsID PatientDetailsNHSNumber SpecimenDate...

Lets help Ruth Raise Her Funds For Charity Walk

Just a quick update, now at £620 and it's a couple of weeks until I start the walk. Been battling with injury the last week or so which is getting better thanks to my physiotherapist being very strict with me! Start off on 17th July, hoping to finish 29th/30th July ... can't believe it's...

tab control is set to transparent but background doesn't show through

Your suggestion might fall down if other people use the database and restrictions mean they can't edit the system properties (as is commonplace in the workplace). This seems a bit of a weakness in the tabbed form as there are many people wanting to change this background property!

    Tab background colour

I'm also trying to figure this out - and am not using windows blinds. I don't want to change the colours of the tabs themselves, just the area to the right of the tabs as described above. Ruth

Update a table when form is saved

Thanks gary, I was already thinking along those lines but just can't get it to work. My latest attempts were using this: CurrentDb.Execute "Update [tblCareHome] set [CareHomeBaselineCompleted]=#" & Yes & "#WHERE [CareHomeID] = '" & Me.CareHome.Value&";" Where tblcarehome is where the...

Update a table when form is saved

Probably a simple solution but can't figure out the syntax! I have a form which is being completed when a particular questionnaire is returned. I have the name/address of all those it was sent to in one table, and their questionnaire responses are being saved to a separate table. When the...

Query criteria - porting from excel, a bit lost!

In awe of the awesomeness :) Many thanks for your help David, I can use this approach for a huge range of other things in my databases so has been a real help!

Query criteria - porting from excel, a bit lost!

I think this is where the problem lies - when passing it via a query. As you say, it should work in theory, the logic appears sound, but the query is bombing out with null values. Ruth

Query criteria - porting from excel, a bit lost!

Not sure if it's relevant, but a date field can't =0 .. is this the same as saying isnull/isblank or not? Am not sure if this is causing the problem. Ruth
