view parametered criteria from qeury in report as header

Yes it was in response to the above. When I put that code into an unbound text box (i.e. = "BETWEEN " & [ENTER START DATE:] & " AND " & [ENTER END DATE] replacing the text in square brackets with the criteria from my query) I get an error message which says, as I posted, that the space bar...

    Latest Projects?

I'm working on project buy-a-house ..... it's far more stressful than databases and I'm not enjoying it one bit ... but when it's completed I'm sure it will be great! My partner is working on a far more exciting project, he is currently almost at completion of building a remote controlled...

view parametered criteria from qeury in report as header

I might be missing something but I am getting an error which says that spacebar is not a valid shortcut - presumably due to the & character being used to precede a shortcut letter/digit? Ruth

SQL displaying from wrong column in table?

Morning all, I've got a query which is running a search box on a form (which I lifted from an example posted here incidentally) but it's picking up the GP as the ID number and not the actual GP surgery. Is there any way I can get around this, perhaps by using DLookup or something? SELECT...

You cancelled the previous operation (another!)

I found I had this error because the DLookup I was using was not working, and hence returning a "what are you talking about you idiot" rather than the expected value for one of the lines of code. Once I fixed this so it actually returned the value it should have done, the error stopped :) Woohoo!

    Doing anything exciting this weekend?

That's what the walking in the hills is for :) I originally did my degrees in sport science (BSc) and Physiotherapy (MSc) but couldn't get a job anywhere when I graduated due to the 2000+ graduates all scrabbling for the few jobs on offer nationally ... hence I ended up where I am now :) What...

    Doing anything exciting this weekend?

Ahh good to hear - we're chilling out this weekend although my American Football team have an away game, a local derby at that, so I might be somewhat in demand on Sunday (I do physio/first aid for them) Ruth

Thanks for this, it helped me figure out how to set focus on a tab using Me.YourTabControlNameHere.Pages(1).SetFocus

Combo box + populating other fields

Hiya, Thanks for that advice, I hadn't come across the DLookUp function before. I will give it a play and see whether it'll do what I need! Many thanks! Ruth

Combo box + populating other fields

Hi all, I'll do my best to explain this situation but I'm somewhat confoozling myself! I have a form, on which there is a combo box for the user to select the name of the person who referred the application being completed. The combo box stores the ReferrerID in the database but...

Office at home or rented space?

Thanks for the advice Mike, it's good to hear from someone who's seen both sides of the arrangements! I've checked with our insurance guy as we're just in the process of buying a house, he seems to think that I don't need to declare a business such as mine as running from my house as it's not...

In response to simpleviolet, why be restricted by the blackberry phones when you can receive emails via blackberry connect on a far more useful platform ;)

Super Easy Mail Merge and subforms

I am a noobie to access and hence no, not happy with temp tables and append queries. I think I'm almost there with running the SQL from a query but it's not seeing the entire query, it stops just before the FROM statement: Private Sub cmdStartRCA_Click() Dim strSQL As String strSQL = "SELECT...

Super Easy Mail Merge and subforms

Do you mean re. doing the query, that i could make a query with all the relevant fields (from the different tables, presumably?) and use this for the mailmerge? Presumably I would filter it based on the patient ID currently being viewed? Would I edit the code you posted above in the module...

I think that's what the problem is as well, I hadn't thought about it being quick reply as I always use it!!!!! I too just hit enter and it refreshes .. bit annoying though ;) Ruth

    Site hangs after posting?

Not sure if this happens to anyone else but I frequently get the situation arise whereby I post a reply, and the response is posted but my browser sits there attempting to refresh the page but never succeeding - I have to manually browse to the thread. I use Firefox 3.0.10. Just a minor...
