    Cell phone ban for drivers!

I don't profess to be any kind of expert in law, but I believe the backing behind it being illegal to use anything which distracts you from driving is that it causes you to drive without due cause and attention, and therefore driving dangerously. I merely suggest that if a case came to court...

    Cell phone ban for drivers!

Personally I can see both sides of the equation. Sometimes it is very distracting when your sat nav is misbehaving or you need to reprogramme a route while driving. I have a HTC TYTNii with TomTom sat nav, and find it a godsend. I have it hands free on a sucker mount on the windscreen...

Cross your fingers for good weather!

I'm off on my first training walk in a few hours, camping at Hayfield in the Dark Peak area Fri/Sat .. hoping to get a good days walk in up to Kinder Downfall & Kinder Scout, then down the valley to Edale. If the weather is good I'll do some more walking on the Sunday, hoping to be back home...

Check to see if number already exists & output

Hi George, Thanks for the help so far, if I understand you correctly I should have the following code Private Sub nhs_no_AfterUpdate() Me.Other_RCAs.Visible = (DCount("nhs_no", "proforma_tab", "[nhs_no] = " Me.[nhs_no]) > 1) End Sub Where Other_RCAs is the name of the subform container...

Check to see if number already exists & output

PS when I say present/notpresent I mean, exists already in the table and hence I want the subform to display. Notpresent means there is no existing RCA and hence the subform is to be hidden.

Check to see if number already exists & output

Hi George, Thanks for your advice. I've created the subform and linked via NHS number as you suggested. I've called the subform other_RCAs, from the other AfterUpdate I've used I guess it needs to look something like this but don't know what goes in the ? bit! Private Sub...

Check to see if number already exists & output

Thanks George, good point well made! If I use the .Visible property, is it possible to use this with something like, if there is a match then make this visible, if there isn't a match make it not visible? Thus far I have only used it to show/hide depending on a dropdown combo box. Ruth

    Who stole my textboxes :o

Hi all, I've got a couple of text boxes which were made teenytiny by the report designer (we're talking, the width of a cursor!) and positioned on the very far left of the report ... only problem is I can't find them now, and I need to as they're associated with a control source that needs...

Check to see if number already exists & output

George, Thanks for the advice, I had thought about the subform but the important part is not having it there if there is no other record found. Perhaps it might be possible to have it "pop up" as a window with the information in - would that be possible? That way I wouldn't have to worry...

Check to see if number already exists & output

Hi all, I'm coming on leaps and bounds and am actually getting to grips with VBA now (woohoo!) but wondered if someone could point me towards best practice for accomplishing the following task: I have a DB which contains analysis forms for patients with a particular condition - and they may...

CSV attachment to email not working when button pressed

Paul, An update, have spent some time getting at least used to the syntax of VBA, the code which is running on the button click is shown below. I've been playing about with adding break points as you mentioned, and uncommenting out lines which I'm not sure why they were commented. As an...

Think I might have missed something here..

Hi Neil, Thanks for the advice. I had initially based all my forms on queries and had all the relationships defined - as I mentioned on an earlier message I had no joy with this so thought to try subforms. Granted I could have done this from a query rather than a table. I guess I'll just be...

Think I might have missed something here..

Hi Neil, I originally tried using a query pulling in all the fields from the respective tables but this did not work. Rather than use subforms at that point, I had each item as a text box or tick box. Not sure what you mean regarding using the form/subform links that Access provides - I...

Think I might have missed something here..

Neil, Just realised that I may have deleted the existing relationships before I uploaded the file - I did have ptID in tblptdetails linked 1tomany to ptID in the RCAptdetails table, then RCAFormID from this table linked to the corresponding RCAID in other forms - but I think this should be...

Think I might have missed something here..

Neil, Have had a play around this evening looking at doing things differently, as I just couldn't get the query working properly. I will attempt to upload the last version I got to at work on Friday when I get in tomorrow (around mid morning) if it would be useful. I tried creating an...

Think I might have missed something here..

Neil, Not sure what you mean, the ID fields are autonumber fields. Each tab has a hidden autonumber field for that tab's ID. Ruth

CSV attachment to email not working when button pressed

Paul, Sorry if I didn't make it clear in the message. We use 2003 at work, I don't have 2003 installed at home, only 2007. The error happens at work and at home, therefore I doubt it's due to 2007. Followed those steps to add to trusted location, still no joy. Ruth
