I'm having a problem with DLookup also. I have a main form (FormI) and a linked form (FormII). I have a CustomerID field on FormI. This field is in the Customers table. I want to put a field on FormII that looks up this value. However, I want the CustomerID on FormII to match the CustomerID...

Data Saved to Table but Not to Form

NEAL - I'll call the form in question Form II. You access Form II by a command button on Form I. Upon accessing Form II, I want Form II's displayed record to match the record on Form I. (The field CustomerID is a common field on both forms, and the "link".) The forms are linked fine. (Form...

Can You Open A Subform w/ a Command Button?

JACK - O.K. - I've now switched my Relationships back to the way they originally were: CustomerID related to CustomerID. I've also changed the Master/Child links back to their original: CustomerID (primary in Customer table) to CustomerID (foreign in Reimbursement) - Still no luck!! And I've...

JACK - Thanks! It worked great! I was thinking about something different! So - Here's my newest dilemma (there's always something!!): When I'm in my subform, the record is not matching up with the related record on my main form. My Master link is the primary key in the main table for my...

    Forms and Subforms

I'm having this same problem. My Master link is the primary key in the main table for my main form (CustomerID), My Child link is the primary key (ReimbursementID) in the table behind my subform. I have both of these selected. They are both AutoNumber fields, and in my Relationships, this is...

Can You Open A Subform w/ a Command Button?

I am using the subform wizard, and I need to use a form that already exists (Reimbursement Form) when I select this option, and the form I want to use, I am not given the option of Form w/ Subforms or Linked Form. My subform is created fine. Everything works fine, except that I don't want my...

    creating update forms

I'm trying to do something similar to this, but it would not let me add records to the form. I then thought that because it was a query, you can't add anything, you could just pull the data in from your tables, not put your data from the form INTO your tables. Am I wrong, can a query-based...

    Adding New Records

FORNATION - I didn't take your post as patronizing. I thought that was a valid question. I was just letting you know that "no, that's not the reason". Because we're just typing, it's hard sometimes to interpret what people are saying. Sorry! Anyway - I feel like a complete idiot! I was...

    Adding New Records

Thank you everyone for your responses. FORNATION - No, it's not because the form hasn't been saved. I do have a save button. It saves fine. I don't actually get the message until I try topage back to the previous record. I'm confused as to what you mean by the link fields. There are no...

    Adding New Records

O.K. - Let me try to explain: I designed all of my tables, and then went into each table and entered one record into each (to ensure that my tables were working properly). I then designed my form. Upon opening my form, I could see my data in each field. (Only one record, because there's only...

    Adding New Records

No, there's no subform or popup form involved. I have a form based on a query. The query itself runs fine. And it also ran fine as the Record Source in my form. A couple properties for my query (don't know if these matter or not): Recordset Type: Dynaset, Output All Fields: No. I don't...
