    Question Auto populate HELP

In Access 2010, Win 7. I have 2 tables. Very simple. 1) tblEmployee Fields: EmployeeID (KEY) , FirstName, LastName, Site, UnitNbr. That's stagnant data, as it rarely changes. But there maybe several hundred employees. The only thing that might change is the "Site" and "UnitNbr". 2)...

Trying to find a Bible in Access format

I think there is much better ways of doing Bible Study than in Access. Such as in Logos and others where every WORD is digitized and searchable. I think that's far more useful than verses or phrase. And many good programs do that very cost effective. In fact the apps are free for many phone...

    Concept elusion

In my "Log Book" table I'd like to be able to enter the "Employee ID" and have Access populate the fields "Unit#" and "Site" which are very consistent and rarely change. Therefore I have those 2 data items in the "Employee" table. I can make a combo box or list box and click on the...

    Form Calculations

Well that improved things so it calculates on the tap. But not until the last of 4 tabs. So yes thanks, that is an improvement. Don't need to reach for the mouse anymore. However won't Access calculate "live" like Excel does? I have 4 fields in a row and in tab order. The first 2 have a...

    Concept elusion

One concept that I just can't seem to get my head around and make work. I have a 2 table data base. Simple. 1) Employee c/w a UnitNBR and a "Site" field. 2) Daily Work Log for each employee. I have an "employee ID" field, who is assigned a piece of equipment "Unit Nbr" and resides at...

    Form Calculations

I have a form where I enter 4 numeric numbers which HAVE TO 1) total 24 (hrs in a day) and 2) - 2 of the 4 can't exceed 14. These numbers are not stored in the data base. They are just there to visually indicate to the data entry person that the numbers are correct and without error and do it...

"If you want to open your form showing all records but got to a new record you could use the DoCmd.GoToRecord method in the Form's On Load event to Go To a New Record. " I'm missing some syntax here?

    Tab Stop to new record

While we're chatting. How can I force my form to open in a "New Record" window instead of the first record in the Table? I hope my "Reputation" check recorded, I can't see where it did. :-(

    GetLast

As I enter Data into the "Form" I'd like it to give me the last date entered in the "Date" field. this would save data entry time over having to stop and select the "Date Picker" with the mouse. (although I lone the date picker) it is slow. Then I could just keep tabbing over that field greatly...

One Form 2 purposes. DE and Qry

I'm sure your right on, and I will try it. Coding / VBA scares me. I'm an Old Cowboy. I don't ever need them to find the records that are correct or "checked" TRUE. Just the erroneous or FALSE ones.

Two buttons - one form - two different purposes for the form!

I'm an OLD RuralGuy and VBA is still over my head. :-( I was hoping there was a simple way to do this without 2 forms. I could build a second form to the QUERY, I guess. Thanks anyhow.

One Form 2 purposes. DE and Qry

Ya sorry, I was wrong. It is bound. I'm looking at the filter options. But. I want to publish in a stand alone program and don't want employees trying to learn how to filter. That's why I thought a simple button would be idiot proof. :-)
