    Auto input into a field

    How can I have my form field "Customer_ID" cut and past the first 7 digits from my "ContactID" into itself. i.e. The "ContactID" is "depekakwor". The first 7 digits is the "Customer_ID". Which by the way is already in the Customer tbl. Access 2010 on Win 7

    Calculation on a form.

    Access 2010 on Win 7 on a PC. I built a form over a table that records 4 fields content in hours. The total of all 4 fields MUST total 24. Not more or less. So I'm trying to validate that all 4 numbers total 24, because I'm entering them from someone elses paper report, and I don't what to have...

    What would we do without a "forum"?

    Sexsmith Alberta, Canada -40C yesterday. Lots of snow. Been doing DB stuff for some years, but not for a while. And getting older (65) my head dosn't work like it might have at one time. But I'd like to make some money "free lancing". Took all 3 levels in Access 2010 last fall.
