    Help file generator (was TonyE)

The original question was what is "the best", so any answer will have to take into account all possibilities. I have not evaluated all possibilities but I will share the fact that I've been using Dr. Explain since 2012 and I'm very satisfied with it: https://www.drexplain.com/ I did evaluate a...

    email macro bombs

Ellenr: Is it possible that you've run into this problem: https://www.devhut.net/2018/12/03/access-bug-mapi/ I've had trouble sending emails using Access 2010 to Outlook 2016 since some recent update if I'm using sendobject. The way I've been able to get around it is by interacting directly...

    Bulk sms Code

I use Twilio from Access. Here's the example I follow: https://www.twilio.com/blog/2013/08/twilio-from-excel-and-access.html There are several discussions on this forum about this topic. If you use a different provider then perhaps they have similar documentation.

    WhatsApp

Maybe someone who knows more about HTTP requests in VBA and cURL can lend a hand. I did a search once on "convert curl to VBA" and got a few hits. Maybe those can help

    WhatsApp

I haven't looked into it carefully to know if it's realistic, but I know that Twilio has a WhatsApp integration. The documentation includes the syntax for cURL: https://www.twilio.com/docs/sms/whatsapp/quickstart So if you can convert that to VBA it should be quite doable. Maybe consider...

    send e-mail automacticallv

Hi Steve Daniel Pineault has some information addressing this: https://www.devhut.net/2013/03/26/ms-access-bypassing-outlook-e-mail-security-warning/ If you read the page including the comments, you'll see that you can disable the security altogether. That's up to your discretion. HTH

    Lost Specific Printer Settings

I don't blame you. My main computer is Windows 7 but I have no choice but to know how to work with the headaches people experience in Windows 10 because they freak out when their reports change to the label printer and vice versa.

    Lost Specific Printer Settings

Are you using Windows 10? There's a setting that will change the default printer when you use a specific printer. (I'm not kidding....) The good news is that you can turn it off...

    Split database

Nancy: What do you mean by "remote location"? Is it on a server connected to the client computer on a LAN or literally a computer that is offsite?

    Splitting database

Important point here about split databases: if you do not maintain a persistent database, you could see a degradation in speed. It makes a big difference. This is item 16 on CJ_LONDON's list.

Change border color of textboxes when they have focus

@Gina: While I did notice people discussing continuous forms, I didn't see that (I still don't) in the original post. Either way, maybe someone searching for the topic will find it helpful :)

Change border color of textboxes when they have focus

In case it helps anyone, the solution I use for this is the one from Allen Browne: http://www.allenbrowne.com/highlight.html Incredibly easy to use.

Microsoft Windows / Office upgrade woes

Exactly. Because in the context of the discussion, this is the point I was making. i.e. Microsoft DID enhance the security, but not enough to be a game changer. To me, a game changer would mean that I can use An Access/ACE solution for completely new industries that I could not before. It's a...

Microsoft Windows / Office upgrade woes

@Doc_Man and Colin: So, I think we've had a good summary of the extent of the security improvements of Access 2010 over the old ULS. In short, it makes it far less likely for someone to hack sensitive data but still not secure enough to open up the medical industry or the ability to integrate...
