If they are standard descriptions that you will always be using - can you not use a combox box as a lookup field - and change the property of 'limit to list' to NO so you can enter other descriptions?

Pat To clarify the problem with the claculated field showing the caluclation then going invisible. Once there is a record in the stock control form then calc stays visible? Thanks again. Scott
