copying contents of one field to another [duplicating]

I would just do an update query. For an example on how to do this, I posted a sample db here: http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=153950

    saving data in a sub-form

Is the main form data populating the subform? A command button won't work in the subform if it's in datasheet mode. The last question is: "Is the data from the main on a new record in the sub?"

    One form two databases

I agree, that make the most sense. You can export data, but linked tables makes the best sense.

Combo Box Defaulting to first line

Well, I guess for the default value, you can put something like this: =DFirst([YourField], "YourTable")

    Calucuating a field.

Ok, I think I'm tracking in on what you're trying to do; well sort of. Let me start off by saying, storing calculated values in a table is a big "NO NO!" :) Calculations should be done at the time of render, meaning, the calculation is done exactly when it needs to be displayed. Ok, now that...

    Calucuating a field.

will it always be "Last Year"? I'm assuming that you are wanting grouping by customer name and just one record to show the total, correct?

    Calucuating a field.

First of all, let me start by saying "Date" is a reserved word, do not name fields the same as reserved words. The easiest way would be to make a query with parameter criteria: Assuming 3 fields: MyDate, Acct, Amount (In the criteria for mydate): Between [Starting] And [Ending] Then base a...

Cascading combo not working - totally stuck

Can you explain what the expected output is, and what you're getting? Also, this video explains cascading combo-boxes fairly well: http://www.datapigtechnologies.com/flashfiles/combobox2.html

    Hard to Believe

Nixon pulled us out of Vietnam, if you remember. I do think that presidents that have served in the military tend to be more attuned to national security. Look at Clinton. I'm not saying that having never been in the military makes you a weaker president. I'm saying, having served in the...

    Hard to Believe

Please..... being a former POW has no bearing on being president. I don't think we have to worry about our president being held in captivity, and even if he was, the VP would assume the responsibilities. Now, on the other hand, military experience has quite a bit of relevance to the job of...

    Help with Union/Join

well, for a union query to work, you have to have the exact number of fields and the same field types.... instead of Select * try selecting the desired columns (fields) Also, you might want to stay away from having spaces in field names and table names

Formatting select query from text to date

Formatting select query from text to date

why not just use the cdate() function? cdate([yourtextdate])

Update or Append? and how to accomplish this?

Correct..... I did that on purpose, so he could run the append query, and then update the missing email fields in the updatetbl, and then run the update query. The update query does, however work..... I just erased the updatetbl info so he could run the append query, fix the missing emails...

    Hard to Believe

Well, actually, the U.S. was primarily settled by people wishing to have religious freedom, not by people looking for a government without religion. The intent was so no one religious group would be held above all others; which of course, worked. The 1st amendment secures the right for...

    Hard to Believe

there are rulings on both sides..... Heck, some lawyers bring up law suits in certain parts of California just to get their mandate through. Regardless, the constitution does not say there must be a separation of church and state; it states that the Government cannot endorse a religion, nor...
