    Google Street View

I wish I had known ahead of time when they were coming. I would have put a "Google Sucks" sign on my front lawn.

I thought Obi Wan already took care of that in Star Wars III. :D

    FIFA World Cup 2010

They can hold it wherever they wish as long as it's a long time til Asia. In the eastern time zones of N. America the matches started at: 3AM - asleep 5 AM - Do I get up or not? and 10AM - Sorry, at work. Of course now I understand what the Asians have been complaining about for years. I have...

    FIFA World Cup 2010

There does not appear to be a "Group of Death" this time around. Advancing countries should be: Group A - France in a walk with South Africa though Mexico may suprise. Group B - Argentina easily with the best of the rest. Group C - England should with the USA. USA men have somthing to prove...

    Spelling

I thought Colin was suspended? :D This forum (in case you were unaware) is available on the internet, an American invention. This also makes it an international method of communication. The majority of people who have English as their second language learned it from Americans. I have heard...

    Chart/Graph Report - Which Application

For some reason I have never been able to understand, the chart function in Access is just useless. I have been told in the past that the chart function in Access is exactly the same as it is in Excel, but that the Access chart wizard is "as dumb as a bag of hammers". I have yet to have any...

Who is the best Rock n Roll Drummer of all time?

Selecting a great drummer in any musical forum is difficult. If the drummer is good, the band has a good tight sound, but the drumming is virtually unnoticed. If the drummer is lousy, so is the band. Ringo Starr was certainly one of the reasons the Beatles has such a good sound. He also had...

    Inserting Images in report

You haven't memtioned which version of Access you are using. Generally, in most of the pre Access 2007 versions, the generally accepted method would be to create an Ole object field in your table (or as many Ole fields as you require). You would then link to the location where the photo is...

    Own security

A most interesting conversation I'm sure when the culpret was called into the boss's office.

    Own security

It depends on the version of Access you are using. The "built in" security function in Access will not allow this as you are required to log in each time. However, there have been several discussions lately that deal with customized security. These may permit it. Do a search on "Security"...

    Appending or Updating data query

My first thought would be to do both. Run a macro which first runs the update query, then runs the append query. Set up conditions in your queries whereby: If the member already exists the data will be updated. If the member does not exist, the data will be appended.

Question Hash Values replacing Times HH:MM:SS

Paul: This is not a runtime problem, or at least it shouldn't be. The runtime version will run everything the full version will run, it just does not allow changes.

Question Hash Values replacing Times HH:MM:SS

This would generally be an indication that the text box that is displaying the time is not wide enough. That is: the box should be at least .75 inches wide to display the time. It is currently only .5 inches wide. You will not be able to remedy this with the runtime version as it does not allow...

    Question User Level Security, 2003

Boyd: IMO this paper is a necessity for anyone doing security work in pre '07 Access. Thank you for having the foresight to save it.

    Question User Level Security, 2003

I did a Google search, can't find the MacDonald Security paper. For a little extra advice, try this link. http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=760429&postcount=4

    Question User Level Security, 2003

There was an excellent step by step Access security guide by a gentleman named Jackson Macdonald. It was located on his site on Geocities, but Yahoo had discontinued Geocities so I have no idea if you can find it elsewhere or not. Boyd makes a good point about the Access Security function being...

    Disabled form

Interesting. I haven't had this problem or seen it. To be certain, you are using the full version of Access '07 and not the runtime? Try opening the form in design view, make a change or two and then click on save without being prompted.

Help - many small issues from an access novice

I just noticed there was a grumpy face in the post. That should be a round bracket followed by a square bracket.
