    Oh the Misery

Actually, I attended an American college on a football scholarship. I was paid $60.00 per week. My job was to make sure nobody stole the stadium. I must have done a good job because after 4 years, the stadium was still there. It was a Division II school and I was most certainly not a star player.

    Oh the Misery

For some reason American Colleges got into the professional football business over 70 years ago. Yes, I know the fans will say the players are amateurs, but they're not. They are all being paid cash money to attend University. The star players also get cars, clothes, college jobs for their...

How many projects You have done....

Your point is well taken Bob. In total I have probably done over 100 databases. As I specialize in doing stats databases for sports leagues, about half of them are variations on the same theme. For example, dart leagues A, B, C and D use my darts database. Each use the same basic database but...

Col: I am suprised at you poor knowledge of Canada. Canada was founded as a bilingual and bicultural country. By law English and French have equal standing. French people in Canada have a right to their language and their culture regardless of where they live in Canada. If they are...

Fity's first language is Quebecois, the dominant French version in Canada. We also have Acadian (mostly in the Maritimes) and Metis (mostly in Western Canada). If all anglos in Canada could speak French as well as Fifty speaks English, many of our national unity problems would be solved...

    FrontPage online database

I have Microsoft FrontPage2000 which I learned by trial and error some time ago but haven't used much lately. I was reading that it is possible to create an online database using FrontPage. Does anyone have any comments on this system. Better still, is there a link I can use to download the...

Installing both Access 2003 and 2007

Simply install Access 2003 normally with one exception. You should place it into a separate folder than your Access 07. The default folder is Office. On my computer, Office 07 is in the Office folder Office03 is in a folder named Office03.

Ah yes, the famous "He started it" defence. :D Republicans are famous for making a lot of noise, except at election time when most Americans seem to vote Democrat. Both Houses of Congress are generally controlled by the Democrats. Under a two party system, you have to let the Republicans in...

How long has the British government been conning the British populace? Over here we are relative newcomers to the art but our govenments have a model to follow. :D

Should Obama have got the Nobel Peace Prize?

I was shocked the other day when I read that in the USA, university tuition and living expenses are not deductible from your parent's income tax. With the high costs of American colleges and residence, how can the US expect to train the necessary technical and scientific people required for the...

    Criteria for choosing interview candidates

Col: Did you have ANY females working in your dept.? I would think your criteria would eliminate them all. If I tried somthing like that I would have picketers outside the door in no time.

Perhaps we should institute some voluntary standards for communicating in the Watercooler. Let's start with good manners. They're pretty much the same on both sides of the pond. From there we could continue to such things as no name calling and composing your post so that it makes your point and...

Col is correct. Mill is a slang term for an engine. A flat head mill was a model ofGM engine common in the late 50s and early 60s. The rubber refers to the remnants of the tires laid on the street when zooming away from a standing start. Pushed out of shape is term I am not familiar with...

Should Obama have got the Nobel Peace Prize?

I agree with the general run of the topic. President Obama has not yet accomplished anything. The awarders of the Prize have aimed it as a slight to Bush rather than as an award to Obama. Obama should have declined it and said examine me again next year. I'll take it then if I have sorted out...

In the 1960's when the Beach Boys were recording the song, the "pink slip" was the vehicle ownership. In California this document was printed on pink paper. I believe other juristictions used different colours. In Ontario for example the ownership is green and its the insurance certificate...

    Word Report

Here is my best advice for using Access and Word together. DON'T I have been using Access for many years and I have never found a way to make it work properly. I always: -create a query in Access which contains the data I want in my Word report -use the mail merge fucntion in Word to get the...

    find used queries

Best place to start looking is in macros and modules. See if any of the queries are listed there. You will then have to open up each form and report in design view to see where they are getting their data from. The short answer is to leave well enough alone unless the database is so big it is...

    help with MS Access

A bit of information may be helpful. For example: Which version of Access are you using? Are you trying to print a report from a query, from a table or from a form? What specific problem with your report are you having?

Access prints the form instead of the report called from the form

To print a report from a form I will generally NOT use the procedure you are using. The report is controlled from a query with the criteria being: [Forms]![YourFormName]![CLIENTE] This will lock the report to the record you currently have displayed on your form.
