Is there a better way to find records other than a combo box?

Create a "search" form with a text box for the field you wish to search for. Create a query to open the form you wish to display the searched for record. In the criteria of the query, enter the following in the field you are searching on: [Forms]![NameOfSearchForm]![TextBox] Example...

Is this the best approach to send letter(s)?

Mail merge is a Word function. I don't know of a method you can call it from Access. I will await correction on this as it is somthing I'd like to know myself. I noticed there is an ad for "Access to Word Mail Merge" on this page. You may wish to check that out.

Is this the best approach to send letter(s)?

Create a query in Access that contains the data for the specific letter and mailing you are working on. In Word, use the mail merge function and get the data from the query you just created.

Databases: Separate companies - single or multiple databases?

I don't see any legal reason why you could not have only one database. The only legal problems I can see is that if both companies are registered as separate entities, they must have separate accounting reports and file separate corporate tax returns. I would set up the reports so that the...

    Multiple Detail Section On Report

The generally accepted way to do this is to have a page counter in the page footer. If you have a 3 page report, the first page would say "Page 1 of 3", second would say "Page 2 of 3" etc.

You should stop trying to be provocative. You're really not very good at it. Why not try sharing some of the intelligence I'm sure is in there someplace. I bet you would find it far more entertaining.

    Anniversaries, 09/11 and Hurricane Ike

The remnants remain. The attempt to install a "British" system of Parliamentary democracy failed. The original Dominions (Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa) worked remarkably well. Because of this, Britain attempted to expand the experiment. The original Dominions had long...

Please go back and read the last line in the quote. I'll make it 24 point next time if that will help. The original Indian colony included Pakistan (dictatorship) and Myanmar/Burma (dictatorship). I win two-out-of-three. :D

    Anniversaries, 09/11 and Hurricane Ike

Britain did change the world, but for the most part the change really didn't take. Starting in 1945, Britain began divesting itself of its Empire. The reason, beating Hitler had bankrupted the country and Britain no longer had the means to continue it. Those places around the world that were...

    Using Excel Functions in Query

You would do it in a similar manner except that in Access it's necessary to name the field rather than give the cell number. Your Excel cell would read 60*H18, 60*H19, 60*H20, If you are using the Query Wizard, go to the first blank field on the right. The new field in your Access Query...

Setting a specific date as the default value

You have two ways of doing this. Open your table in design view and select the begin date field. In default value you can set the default date to "01/01/2009" (no quotes). Every record entered will have this date entered automatically in the begin date field. Remember to change it on Sept. 1...
